On the Kings podcast with Jeremiah:

#1 Jeremiah it was a big night for the Sacramento Kings (2-2) getting a victory over the Phoenix Suns (1-3) on Wednesday night 110-107 the Suns are no easy customer and winning in Phoenix is no easy task either.

#2 The Kings got a buzzer beater from Harrison Barnes who hit a three pointer for the three point victory for Barnes whose been in the league for sometime it had to be something special to get a win like that for Sacramento.

#3 Barnes also had a great night finishing second in scoring with 22 points with Buddy Hield finishing first with 26 points the Kings have been getting some great offense and have been involved in some close games.

#4 The Kings couldn’t stop the Suns Devon Booker who topped all scorers on Wednesday night with 31 points but the Kings were able to weather the Suns and were able to stay close and pull it off in the end.

#5 The Kings are in New Orleans tonight against the Pelicans (1-4). The Pelicans fell on hard luck in their last game against a very physical and great offensive Atlanta Hawks (3-1) team losing 102-99 in New Orleans. Jeremiah set the stage for this one as the Kings open a three game road trip starting tonight in New Orleans.

Barnes hits clutch 3-pointer as Kings edge Suns 110-107

Harrison Barnes canned a 3-pointer as time expired in the fourth quarter, thwarting a Phoenix comeback and giving the Sacramento Kings a 110-107 victory over the Suns Wednesday at Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix.

Buddy Hield led the Kings (2-2) with 26 points in 27 minutes off the bench, while Barnes finished with 22 points, four assists and nine rebounds. Hield 7 of 11 on 3-pointers.

De’Aaron Fox had 18 points and nine assists, Richaun Holmes was Sacramento’s top rebounder with 12 boards to go with 12 points, Tyrese Haliburton had 15 points and Alex Len – who played his first five NBA seasons with Phoenix – added 10 points for the Kings.

Devin Booker was the Suns’ top scorer with a season-high 31 points; he also had eight assists and six rebounds. Deandre Ayton finished with 21 points and 21 rebounds, Mikal Bridges had 15 points and Elfrid Payton and Jae Crowder each added 10 points for Phoenix.

After the Suns (1-3) led 61-53 at halftime, they went cold in the third quarter, while Sacramento heated up and took an 82-76 lead after three periods. The Kings used a 17-6 run to surge ahead.

Phoenix went on a 12-2 run late in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 107-107 on a Bridges dunk with 34 seconds to play, completing a rally to erase a 13-point Sacramento lead

The Suns came up with a defensive stop on the next possession, but Booker missed an 18-foot jumper with 1.4 seconds left. Fox then threw an inbounds pass to Barnes, who spotted up two feet behind the arc with Booker guarding him tightly. Barnes hit nothing but net as the horn sounded.

Phoenix, the defending Western Conference champions, finished the game 6 of 22 from 3-point range (27 percent).
The Kings’ road trip continues on Friday in New Orleans.

#1 The Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks have played some close basketball and game 5 on Saturday night in Phoenix was no different the Buck won it four points.

#2 In game 5 the Bucks offense were looking for Giannis Antetokounompo who led all scorers with 32

#3 Khris Middleton has been big for the Bucks in the Finals he finished in second in scoring with 29 on Saturday night.

#4 The Phoenix Suns Devin Booker couldn’t do it all he scored 40 but it wasn’t enough as the Bucks scored just enough to put the series on the brink.

#5 It is game six the Bucks have the home floor on Tuesday night who do you see having the most pressure in game six the Bucks or Suns?

#1 Joe the Phoenix Suns got to a big jump on the Milwaukee Bucks with a 2-0 series lead what would you allude being the biggest reason for that happening.

#2 Joe, talk about the Suns big three who scored in double figures in game 2 Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, and Chris Paul they were potent in the playoffs and wasted no time getting off the dime in the first two games of the Finals.

#3 The Suns defense is also credited by keeping the Bucks at bay with the game 2, 118-108 win. The Suns have demonstrated what kind of team they’ve been from the defensive side of the ball.

#4 For Giannis Anteokounmpo he led the Bucks in scoring with 42 in game 2 it seems like when the Bucks go on offense the balls going to him but they Bucks are going to need a lot more than Giannis to try and come back and get back in these Finals.

#5 Game 3 tonight Suns up 2-0 Bucks have the home floor there will little doubt the Bucks will be fired up to try and get a win on the home floor.

#1 The Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo who missed his second straight game against the Atlanta Hawks out due to a knee injury could be assured that his talented teammates pressed on without him and won Saturday’s sixth game 118-107 to move onto the NBA Finals.

#2 Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the staple for the Bucks since his acquisition and he’s not doubt going to be a huge part of these finals coming off that knee injury.

#3 The last two games the Bucks won in games 5 and 6 and they made it look relatively easy with an 11 point win to close out the Hawks on Saturday night.

#4 The Phoenix Suns have handled many of their opponents in the post season and closed out the Los Angeles Clippers in game six last Wednesday 130-103. The Suns Chris Paul put away the Clippers almost single handedly with 41 points.

On the NBA Western Conference Finals podcast with Joe:

#1 Joe, You just can’t imagine the pressure the Los Angeles Clippers must feel after taking a 84-80 loss in game four on Saturday and now they are down 3-1 with game five in Phoenix on Monday night.

#2 The Clippers missed three free throws and were looking for the three but it was former Clipper Chris Paul who converted three free throw shots that helped in this very close contest.

#3 The Suns Devin Booker led with 25 points and fouled out of the contest in the final minute of the game. Booker gave it everything he had and because of his effort the Suns were able to out score the Clippers in the end.

#4 If the Suns can beat the Clippers on Monday night it would mark the first time since 1993 that the Suns have been in the NBA Finals it’s a been a long road to get this far but the Suns are now just one game away from getting to the finals.

#5 To show you how successful the Suns have been in the playoffs they took out the Lakers in round one 4-2 and the Denver Nuggets in a sweep 4-0 and momentum in this series with a 3-1 lead over the Clippers.

NBA Playoffs podcast with Joe Hawkes:

#1 The Phoenix Suns got some big scoring from Devin Booker (40 points) and Deandre Ayton (20) points good enough to beat the Los Angeles Clippers in game 1 on Sunday in Phoenix.

#2 The Clippers Chris Paul was out due to Covid 19 protocols how much did that handicap the Clippers.

#3 The Clippers got some scoring production out of Paul George who led with 34 points and Reggie Jackson with 24 but in the end the Clips came up short.

#4 Joe, Talk about the Suns general manager James Jones who just beat out the Utah Jazz vice president of basketball operations Dennis Lindsey for the Executive of the Year Award. The Sun did do a number on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets to get this far and that might have made the difference for Jones winning the award.

#5 Tuesday is game 2 of the series in Phoenix and the Clippers are hoping to get Paul back in the line up they found out what a nemesis the Sun can be and if there were to drop game 2 they would have their hands full going back to Los Angeles down 0-2.

On the NBA Playoffs with J Hawkes:

#1 The Milwaukee Bucks (2-2) held the lead for most of game 4 over the Brooklyn Nets (2-2) to end up tying the series at 2-2. This was a must win for the Bucks and they did with some great offensive play.

#2 One thing the Bucks didn’t want to do is go down 1-3 but tying the series pretty much give Milwaukee a new look on the series.

#3 Giannis Antetokounmpo lead all scorers and the Bucks and he’s been the big key for the Bucks all along to get them this far.

#4 How surprising is it for you to see a loaded Nets team with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Blake Griffin get held down on scoring and talk about how long Irving could be out with today’s ankle injury?

#5 Net and Bucks tip off for game 5 on Tue Jun 15th in Brooklyn this will give either team a chance to go one game up at the Barclay Center.
