#1 Vincent Trocheck just couldn’t believe it when he scored the winning goal for the New York Rangers in the second overtime stanza at Madison Square Garden to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in game 2 to go up 2-0.

#2 Peter Laviolette head coach the New York Rangers said that the power play has been good and the penalty kill was great and there are times when your down an attacker for a team like the Hurricanes that’s top heavy it puts you under duress things got better and it was factor in the game.

#3 Earlier the Rangers Alexis Lafreniere scored twice, Chris Kreider scored a power play goal and Artemi Panarin had three assists to round out the scoring.

#4 Rangers Igor Shesterkin had to put out his best effort as the Hurricanes were knocking on the door all night. Shesterkin stopped 57 shots talk about Shesterkin standing on his head.

#5 You can’t underestimate the Hurricanes they come back to Carolina at PNC and host the Rangers for games 3 and 4 and they noted for turning thing around on home ice. How do you see this match up on Thursday night for game 3?

#1 The Toronto Maple Leafs survived being eliminated defeating the Boston Bruins 2-1 in overtime. The Leafs trail the Bruins in this first playoff round 3-2. The Leafs Matthew Knies scored at 2:26 in the overtime stanza for the game winning goal.

#2 No time like the present with the New York Islanders playing for their lives down 3-1 they were in a 3-3 tie until the third period and couldn’t hold on as the Carolina Hurricanes rallied with three goals in the third period with goals from Jack Drury, Stefan Noesen, and Evgeny Kuznetsov for the come back 6-3 as the Hurricanes advance to the next round.

#3 The Colorado Avalanche had a 3-2 lead going into the third period in game five and the series lead as well at 3-1 against the Winnipeg Jets. The Avalanche added three more goals in the third period to put away the Jets and came away with a three goal 6-3 win in Winnipeg.

#4 The Nashville Predators came into game 5 down 1-3 against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena in Vancouver and were facing elimination and defeated the Vancouver Canucks in razor close game 2-1. All the scoring took place in the third period with the Canucks Nikita Zadorov scoring to start the period at 3:11 on a wrist shot, then the Predators came back with two unanswered goals by Roman Josi at 7:15 to tie it 1-1 and Alexander Carrier at 12:46 for the winning goal for a 2-1 final.

#5 Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois said on Tuesday that signing Steven Stamkos is a priority. BriseBois told the media two days after the Florida Panthers eliminated the Lightning at locker cleanout day in Tampa Bay that Stamkos “needs a contract and we want him part of that group.”Stamkos signed an eight year $68 million contract back in 2016 with the Lightning

#1 Len, the Dallas Stars Joe Pavelski scored the game winning overtime goal to help the Dallas Stars avoid being swept in the third round of the playoffs by the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday night 3-2.

#2 The Stars got help from Jason Robertson who scored two goals for Robertson’s first post season multi goal game in his career.

#3 Len it really seemed like the Stars were up for this game, they had to play the game of their lives and they did it without suspended Jamie Benn.

#4 The Stars got some great goaltending help from Jake Oettinger who had 37 saves and allowed just two goals. Oettinger was yanked in game 3 in the first 7:10 minutes for allowing three goals on five shots but sure turned it around on tonight.

#5 Game 5 goes back to Las Vegas Saturday night the Knights have the upper hand home ice and a 3-1 series lead how do you see the match up between the Stars and Knights at T Mobile Center?
