NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs podcast:

#1 Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 19 shots and the Panthers went onto shutout the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in the first round of the Eastern Conference at Amalie Arena on Thursday night in game 2 of the series. The Panthers now take a 2-0 series lead.

#2 The Toronto Maple Leafs have taken a 3-0 lead in their series against the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs edged the Senators 3-2 in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday night. The Leafs Simon Benoit scored at 1:19 in the overtime stanza to get the Leafs the win.

#3 The Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov scored two goals for the second consecutive game. The Wild now take a 2-1 lead in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night. Marco Rossi and Matt Boldy each scored goals. Goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 30 shots.

#4 The St Louis Blues Pavel Buchenvich got a hat trick scoring three goals it was Buchenvich’s first career playoff hat trick who also picked up an assist as the Blues landslide the Winnipeg Jets in game 3 with a 7-2 win in the first round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. With the win the Blues take a 2-1 series lead.

#1 Let’s take a recap of the last game between Dallas and Colorado of the series in Colorado.

#2 For Wyatt Johnston it was a pretty good Monday night scoring twice, it was his 21st birthday.

#3 Johnston scored a short handed goal and a goal on the power play.

#4 Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 24 Colorado shots. Oettinger allowed just one goal for the win. Talk about valuable Oettinger is for the Stars to help them pull within one game of winning round 2.

#5 Stars and Avalanche face off tonight at 5:00pm PT in Dallas. Crucial game for the Aves to try and stay alive in the series and the Stars can end it tonight. How do you see this one?

NHL Stanley Cup Playoff podcast with Len Shapiro: Panthers defeat Hurricanes 3-2 in 4 OTs; Sixth longest game in history

On the NHL Stanley Cup Playoff podcast with Len:

#1 The Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes battled to well past 2:00 AM ET this morning in Raleigh in the NHL’s sixth longest game as the Panthers Matthew Tkachuk scored the game winner in the fourth overtime at 12.7 seconds left for the 3-2 win. 139 minutes 47 seconds of hockey.

#2 Len you got a look at this one and the players were just exhausted after two overtimes.

#3 It had to be a tough ending for Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Anderson when Tkachuk beat him within the final seconds of the fourth and final overtime. Anderson stood on his head during the four overtime periods stopping 57 out of 60 shots by the Panthers.

#4 Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 63 shots out of 65. Bobrovsky did just enough in seven periods to keep the Hurricanes at bay in their own rink.

#5 This turned out to be a tooth and nail battle neither side giving an inch and playin for their lives all game long do you see game 2 coming up pretty much being that kind of a war and possibly going overtime again?
