#1 Mary, talk about how the NHL scheduling went for these Finals and why the wait all the way until Saturday for the first game.

#2 The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers face off on Saturday for game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The Oilers are up for the task as they got huge help from center Connor McDavid who has five goals in post season so far.

#4 Zach Hyman leads the Oilers in goals for the playoffs with 14 goals. Len would you say Hyman was one of the keys for the Oilers to beat the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals?

#3 Oilers center Leon Draisaitl also is supplying some great offense with ten goals the Oilers wouldn’t be where they are without his help.

#5 The Florida Panthers took out the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2. The Panthers just got by in game 6 with a 2-1 win. The Panthers certainly can rely on their goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky whose been a stopper between the pipes.

#6 Mary, talk about the Panther center Carter Verhaeghe leads the Panthers with goals scored in the post season with nine. Verhaeghe has been key for the Panthers in getting them here.

On the NHL Stanley Cup Finals with Mary Lisa:

#1 The Colorado Avalanche are just one game away from hoisting the Stanley Cup taking a 3-1 series lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning as game 5 is coming back to the Ball Center in Denver.

#2 The Aves went up 2-0 and played game 3 on Monday at Tampa Bay the Lightning jumped all over the Aves 6-2 after the Aves won a laugher 7-0 in game 2. The Lightning showed for a moment there they would back on track.

#3 Now with game 5 in Colorado on Friday night the Aves showed they had a lot of advantages having home ice winning the first two games of the series at Ball Arena.

#4 There is no doubt that these two teams can score as they demonstrated in games 2 and 3 but they can both play some good defense as well in game 4 they kept it within a goal for a as the Aves came back to win it 3-2.

#5 Aves goaltender Darcy Kuemper in game 4 was the real difference stopping 37 of 39 Tampa Bay shots for the win.

On the Stanley Cup Finals podcast with Mary Lisa:

#1 Mary Lisa, the Tampa Bay Lightning down 2-0 in the series bounce back and get a much needed 6-2 win to cut the Colorado Avalanche’s series lead to 2-1.

#2 Game 2 the Aves crushed the Lightning 7-0 and after that game the Lightning were concerned about a high scoring Avalanche team but in game 3 on Monday the Lighting on home ice nailed it not wasting any time scoring twice in the first period and four in the second period.

#3 The Lightning got scoring help from Steven Stamkos one goal, Nikita Kucherov two assists, Victor Hedman two assists and Andrei Vasilevskiy in goal saving 37 shots.

#4 The Avalanche might have been shutout if it weren’t for left winger Gabriel Landeskog who did all the scoring with two goals.

#5 Game 4 is slated for Wednesday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay. The Avalanche could lick their wounds and rebound and take game 4 and go up 3-1. The Lightning could keep the momentum going with a second straight home ice win. How do you see things shaking out in game 4.

#1 Mary Lisa, how stunning is it that the Tampa Bay Lightning can come back the way they did down 2-0 to eliminate the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference Finals with four straight wins.

#2 The Lightning’s Steven Stamkos scored twice in game six in Saturday’s elimination game how crucial was Stamkos for the Lightning in this series?

#3 Stamkos said looking back on the series that this is a special group here because of the way they’ve played and they way they’ve rebounded winning four straight in a series like this.

#4 Mary Lisa, it’s been nine days since the Western Conference Champion Colorado Avalanche have played a game on Mon Jun 6th when they advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals. Will having nine days off be an advantage for the Avalanche in terms of lots of practice and rest or a disadvantage not seeing live action all this time?
