#1 Charlie how did the Diamondbacks make it look so easy in game 2 on Saturday night for a eight run, 8-1 win at Globe Life?

#2 The D-Backs pitcher Merrill Kelly had his mix of pitches going and kept the rugged tough Rangers line up off balance going sevens inning, three hits and one run for a quality performance to tie the series 1-1.

#3 The D-Backs also got some hitting from Tommy Pham who had four hits and two runs, Ketel Marte got a key two RBI single the Diamondbacks poured it on.

#4 In game 1 after giving up two runs in the ninth inning to the Rangers and the Rangers Adolis Garcia got a game winning hit in the 11th inning on Friday night. On Saturday night do the Rangers now look at this game 2 as just getting roughed up a bit and the best is yet to come?

#5 During the pre game at game 1 of the World Series the press had a chance to ask MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred about the Oakland A’s relocation vote that’s about come up in Arlington on Nov 14-16. The question was regarding the Schools over Stadiums referendum. The A’s have a lawyer trying to go to a hearing to get the petitions thrown out because the language is misleading and the petition language is misstated. Schools over Stadiums argue they have a constitutional right to gather signatures for the petition drive and that the petition language is not misleading. A hearing has been scheduled with the A’s lawyer and Schools over Stadiums on Mon Nov 6. How do you see this going?

#1 The Los Angeles Dodgers are feeling the pain, two time All Star pitcher Walker Buehler is out for the rest of the season. Buehler hasn’t pitched since August 2022 after having his second Tommy John surgery. Buehler talked it over with his family, team doctors, front office staff and said it would be best if he waited until next season to return.

#2 Last week Sunday Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias 27, was arrested for domestic violence and was released on $50,000 bond. This was Urias’ second domestic violence charge his first time was in 2019. It’s unlikely that Urias will ever pitch for the Dodgers again as his contract expires after this season.

#3 The Washington Nationals regret that press reports say that pitcher Stephen Strasburg will retire and that such an announcement was premature and that the Nats really wanted to be the ones to make such announcement. Strasburg had been suffering from thoracic outlet syndrome, which is common for pitchers on the downside of their careers.

#4 More Dodger injuries on Thursday against the Miami Marlins Mookie Betts injured his foot after hitting a first inning pitch off his foot. The injury took it’s time to creep up on Betts as Betts realized it in the seventh inning and was seen leaving Loan Depot Park on crutches the good news is x-rays show Betts didn’t suffer a fracture.

#5 Schools over Stadiums is considered the last hope for the Oakland A’s to stay in Oakland. Schools over Stadiums is an organization working with the Nevada State Education Association who are planning to put a petition together which will stop the public funding that will pay for an Las Vegas A’s ballpark. Schools over Stadiums argues that money should be spent on education than funding a ballpark. Right now NSEA is looking for funding to cover contractors to go out and get the petitions signed. The estimated cost to run an anti public ballpark funding campaign would run nearly $2 million.

#1 Charlie what does the injury to the Los Angeles Angels two way player Shohei Ohtani mean for his $500 million free agency?

#2 Ohtani was on the way to an MVP season his season now cut short from being a two way player can he still contribute as a designated hitter.

#3 The dissention is growing in the Chicago White Sox clubhouse and organization. The team wants out of the South Side because of growing crime and are looking to the suburbs for a new park, two women fan were shot at the park, Tim Anderson’s fight with the Guardians Jose Ramirez ending in a suspension, Anderson said that the Sox should bring back Tony LaRussa as manager, and owner Jerry Reinsdorf fired team vice president Ken Williams and general manager Rick Hahn.

#4 Charlie, how much are the Cincinnati Reds going to miss left hand pitcher Alex Young who is on the 15 day IL with tightness in his left hamstring and have activated right hander Ben Lively from the IL. Young gave up a lead off home run to Lourdes Gurriel Jr of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the bottom of the eighth inning on Thursday.

#5 Charlie talk about the kid who stole the ball from the glove of Cincinnati Reds left fielder Spencer Steer on a ball that look like a home run ball hit by the Arizona Diamondback Tommy Pham. The kid who caught the ball was called for interference and was ejected from the ballpark. Pham said he felt sorry for the kid because kids don’t know about the interference rules. Pham also lost the home run as it was ruled an out because interference.

#1 As of last week the walking wounded list for the All Star Game is adding up, the Los Angeles Angels pitcher Shohei Ohtani will not pitch due to finger blister, Angels Mike Trout will sit out due to a fractured left wrist and will not attend the All Star game, New York Yankee outfielder Aaron Judge toe injury, and the Chicago Cubs announced that shortstop Dansby Swanson will also sit out the mid summer classic due to a left heel contusion which forced Swanson to leave Wednesday’s against the Milwaukee Brewers, Swanson is on the 10 day IL.

#2 This year’s All Star game in Seattle will look like the Texas Rangers will be playing host they have added outfielder Adolis Garcia making the Rangers the first team in 47 years to have five starters representing the same team at the All Star game. Other Rangers starting catcher Jonah Heim, second baseman Marcus Semien, shortstop Corey Seagar, and third baseman Josh Jung.

#3 Former San Francisco Giants Carlos Rodon and current New York Yankee pitcher made his Yankee debut on Saturday but was outpitched by the Chicago Cubs Jameson Tallion in a 3-0 Cubs shutout. Rodon has been out due to a sore left forearm and Rodon had been out since spring training. Tallion went eight innings giving up one hit and Rodon went 5.1 innings, giving up four hits and two runs.

#4 The Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen and third baseman K’Bryan Hayes were placed on the 10 day IL. McCutchen is retroactive with right elbow inflammation, Hayes as of last Thursday is suffering from back inflammation. Charlie Pirates are 8.5 games back in the NL Central to get back in the hunt they’re going to miss these guys.

#5 Charlie, Major League Commissioner Rob Manfred said in early June that the owners will take a vote on the Oakland A’s relocation in Vegas. Then came the Nevada State Legislature who voted in a second special session to use public funding to pay for the Tropicana ballpark which passed. The first week of July is concluding and heading into the second week of July and still the owners have not taken a vote. Is that an indication that the jury is still out and the owners are haggling over A’s to Vegas relocation issue?
