#3 Justin Verlander is the big name on the Giants pitching staff but there is no surprise that Logan Webb got the call for opening day starter.

#4 Verlander will be helping out the young pitcher Yoda he will be. He’s already help Hayden Birdsong moving from one side of the rubber to the other.

#5 Mike Trout connected for a spring training home run on Wednesday it was his first home run in ten months and he’s recovered from his back problems and hopes to be swinging the bats for the Los Angeles Angels for 2025.

#6 Michael, talk about Anthony Rendon he’s expected in camp for the Angels and has had suffered injuries keeping him out of the line up at times over the last two seasons.

#7 The Dodgers owe eight players $1 billion did the Dodgers get into the red with the inflated payroll that they have.

#8 The salary cap has been a well talked about issue as the Collective Bargaining Agreement is up after the 2026 season it’s an issue that could trigger a players strike.

#1 Michael not only did former Seattle Mariner Ichiro Suzuki was voted in for enshrinement but all the talk was that he missed getting unanimously voted in by one vote.

#2 One of the highlight achievements of Ichiro’s career was that he surpassed George Sisler’s single hit season record on Oct 1, 2004 with his 258th hit.

#3 Michael, take about Vallejo native and newly Hall of Fame inductee former New York Yankee pitcher CC Sabathia who retired at the age of 44 pitching from 2001 to 2019. Winning 251 games with an ERA 3.74.

#4 Former Houston Astros pitcher Billy Wagner was voted into the Hall of Fame on his tenth and final Hall of Fame ballot wining by 82.5%. Wagner was 47-40 career with an ERA of 2.31.

#5 To close out this segment since were talking about Hall of Famers who made it let’s talk about maybe the one player you could think of that has not and is not in the Hall of Fame that you personally feel deserves to be in the Hall of Fame?

#1 Michael, when Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman says the A’s should stay in Oakland, that the A’s need to live their dream with a waterfront ballpark and they don’t have any plans is that not only truthful talk but also from a mayor whose city will not reap the financial benefits from a team that will be playing in unincorporated city like Paradise?

#2 It’s Super Bowl week and with Mayor Goodman speaking out on the A’s and grabbing headlines from football what does that say about how important relocating teams the wrong way in baseball?

#3 Michael, talk about the lawsuit by Strong Public Schools that argues the public money for the A’s Las Vegas ballpark was not voted on legitimately by the Nevada State Legislature back in April. That the legislature was supposed to vote on SB1 as a two thirds vote not by a majority. Strong Public Schools say they have a strong case and it could take down what is now looking like a house of cards for the Tropicana, the A’s and MLB.

#4 Michael switching over to the San Francisco Giants are talking with Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman talk about his chances of coming over to San Francisco and what it would mean to have him in the line up everyday?

#5 The Miami Marlins Jorge Soler is in talks with the Giants. Soler is in the final year of his three year $36 million contract and had opted out for agency. Soler is a right fielder and designated hitter he hit .250 with 36 home runs last season how do you see Soler helping out in the Giants line up for 2024?

On the World Series podcast with Michael:

#1 Michael with the Houston Astros winning it they proved they won’t go quietly in the night tying up the series against the Atlanta Braves 1-1.

#2 Astros got a four run second inning off Atlanta Braves starter Max Fried. Fried just struggled to keep runners off base with pitching five innings, seven hits and six runs.

#3 The Astros Jose Altuve kept things alive with a run scored in first and a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Altuve has been clutch in the post season and in game 2 was no exception.

#4 Astros starter Jose Urquidy pitched five innings, gave up six hits and two runs and had all his pitches working for him to keep a challenging Braves line up off balance on Wednesday night.

#5 Game three moves to Atlanta the Astros will start Luis Garcia and for the Braves Ian Anderson will oppose Garcia a 5:09 pm first pitch in Cobb County how do you see this series moving back to Atlanta?

#1 Miguel, what has gone wrong with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1-3) they lost the first two games of this NLCS on ninth inning walks off, they nearly lost game 3 the Atlanta Braves (3-1) had a 5-2 lead but the Dodgers got a eighth inning four run rally, in game 4 not so lucky the Braves win a laugher 9-2 with game 5 in LA tonight.

#2 Did the first two loses of this series kind of take the wind out of the Dodgers sails or were they pretty mentally exhausted from the NLDS with the San Francisco Giants going the whole five games.

#3 How much has been placed on Jose Urias he came in as a reliever in game 2 pitched the eighth in relief was shelled for three hits and two earned runs and started yesterday in game 4 went five innings, gave up five runs on eight hits in his start.

#4 Turning to the Houston Astros, the Astros took a three games to two lead on the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night at Fenway Park with a convincing 9-1 lead. This was the Red Sox best chance to take the lead in the series at home but the Astros came out hitting and now home field on Friday night at Minute Maid Field and could win it to advance to the World Series in game 6.

#5 You had many a conversation with Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker and he’s done a whale of a job managing this club to get this far know him talk about his relationships with his players and the job he’s done this season.
