#1 The Stanford Cardinal (6-7) who faced off with the Loyola Chicago Ramblers (6-6) picked up a 75-62 win last Thursday at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz it was Stanford’s second win in six games.

#2 The Cardinal’s Harrison Ingram led with 15 points and James Keefe followed up with 14 points to help provide with the offense the Cardinal needed to win this one.

#3 During the unforgettable 2020-21 season for Stanford the Cardinal used Kaiser Permanente for their home games replacing Maples Pavilion as Stanford was under Covid protocols as ordered by Santa Clara County that season. The win last Thursday brings Stanford up to 6-0 when playing in Santa Cruz.

#4 Stanford’s Michael Jones continues to have some offensive success scoring 12 points good enough to finish third against the Ramblers last Thursday.

#5 The Cardinal go onto host the Colorado Buffaloes (8-5) Thursday night at Maples. The Buffaloes won their last game against the Northern Colorado Buffaloes last Sunday 88-77. Daniel how do you see this contest as the Cardinal open a two game homestand?

Stanford Takes Out Loyola Chicago in Former Temporary Homecourt Arena in Santa Cruz, 75-62

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Sister Jean’s essence back in the Windy City wasn’t enough to prevent the Stanford Cardinal (5-7) from downing Loyola Chicago Ramblers (6-6) inside Kaiser Permanente Arena, 75-62.

The Cardinal meant business in the first 20 minutes of play, by going on an 8-0 run and leading by 17 points at the half, 37-20.

Sophomore forward Harrison Barnes was off to a great start by soring ten points and leading the way for his squad to have a comfortable lead midway through the contest.

Stanford increased the advantage to 21 points early in the second half, and cruised in Santa Cruz to the final horn for an impressive victory south of of the Farm, 75-62

Ingram added 5 points to his previous tally to lead the Cardinal with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Senior forward James Keefe added 14 points and 8 rebounds and senior guard Michael Jones chipped in 12 points too.

The Ramblers had four players in doble-figures: Braden Norris (18), Marquise Kennedy (14), Philip Alston (11) and Tom Welch (10), 

Stanford will next be in action back on the Farm Thursday, December 29 against colorado, while Loyola Chicago hosts George Washington New Year’s Eve Saturday in Chi Town.

#1 Michael, the Stanford Cardinal Michael Jones had 17 points against the Texas Longhorns last Sunday in Dallas at American Airlines Arena. The Cardinal couldn’t hold on losing by ten points 72-62.

#2 Michael, the Cardinal might get used to seeing the Longhorns as UCLA and USC are leaving the conference this was the second straight time that the Cardinal has seen the Longhorns in two seasons.

#3 In spite of the loss Jones hit five of ten shots from the floor and got two triples there is no doubt that Jones is leading the way with his offensive prowess for the Cardinal.

#4 The Cardinal’s Brandon Angel and Spencer Jones finished the contest in double figures Angel with 11 and Spencer with ten points.

#5 The Cardinal host the Loyola Ramblers (6-5) on Thursday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz at 7:00pm. The Ramblers have won four of their last five games. The Cardinal have lost four of their last five games.
