#1 The San Jose Sharks (13-10-1) couldn’t solve two New York Rangers (15-4-3) goaltenders Igor Shesterkin who stopped all 19 shots and Alexander Georgiev who stopped all nine shots for the shutout 1-0.

#2 Shesterkin had to leave at 5:08 in the third period for a right leg injury who went face down in the crease and had to be removed for Georgiev.

#3 Ryan Strome scored the game’s only goal of the game early in the first period and made it count as they came away with the 1-0 win

#4 On the Sharks behalf goaltender Adin Hill stopped 25 shots allowed Strome’s goal a good outing for Hill but a disappointing loss.

#5 The Sharks continue this road trip against the Columbus Blue Jackets (12-9-0). The Jackets have lost three straight games. Their most recent loss coming against the Dallas Stars (12-7-2) 3-2. How do you see this match up between these two teams this Sunday?

#1 The Nashville Predators paid tribute to the Seattle Kraken with a virtual banner saying “Gave Seattle First Franchise Win” after Seattle got win on Thursday in Nashville. The Kraken said it was a bit of southern hospitality.

#2 The Columbus Blue Jackets paid tribute to late goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks on Thursday. Kivlenieks died in a fireworks accident in July. The CBJs had #80 also embossed under the ice surface in memory of Kivlenieks.

#3 Matt talk about the New York Islanders long road trip which has them embarking on a 13 game road trip to open their season because they are waiting for UBS Arena in Elmont to be finished the Isles new home.

#4 Matt talk about Charlie McAvoy signing with the Boston Bruins for $76 million which translates into $9 million annually. McAvoy scored 30 points and was tops in ice time last season.

#5 The Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin was suspended for roughing Tampa Bay Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph in last Thursday Oct 14th’s game. Larkin will loose $30,500 for the one game loss and the money will go to the players emergency fund.

#1 The St Louis Blues (3-1-1) got a two goal win over the Los Angeles Kings (1-2-2) 4-2 on Saturday night. The Blues got scoring from Torey Krug (1), Vince Dunn (1), David Perron (1), and Jayden Schwartz (1).  Blues goalie Jordan Binnington stopped 21 LA shots and allowed two goals.

#2 The Boston Bruins (3-1-1) had the offense scoring two goals in the second period and three goals in the third period to get a 6-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. The Bruins Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each scored two goals.

#3 The Montreal Canadiens (4-0-2) lead for most of the game 2-0. The Habs scored three goals in the third period as the Vancouver Canucks scored two in the third for the 5-2 win. The Canadiens goalie Carey Price allowed two goals and stopped 23 shots.

#4 The Columbus Blue Jackets (2-2-2) got a 5-2 win over one of the best teams in the NHL over the Tampa Bay Lightning (3-1-0). The Jackets jumped to a 3-2 in  the first period and scored two goals in the third period.

#5 The game between the Florida Panthers and Hurricanes was canceled due to a lack of available players on the Hurricanes due to Covid-19 related issues. The Canes were missing five players key forwards Jordan Staal, Teuvo Teravainen, top defencemen Jacob Slavin also forwards Warren Foegele and Jordan Martinook.

#1 The Philadelphia Flyers who were coming off two wins took a tough loss to the Buffalo Sabers on Monday night 6-1. The Sabers Curtis Lazar and Sam Reinhart both scored twice. The Flyers just simply could not get any semblance of offense going and Flyers goalie Carter Hart was having a tough time stopping shots facing 18-22.

#2 The Carolina Hurricanes got a two goal victory over the Nashville Predators 4-2. The Hurricanes down 2-1 came back in the third period getting goals from Vincent Trocheck, Sebastian Aho, and Nino Niederreiter.

#3 Big night for the Toronto Maple Leafs getting a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets. For Toronto scoring Monday night John Taveras and Mitch Marner who scored twice in the two goal win.

#4 In a back and forth game between the San Jose Sharks and the St Louis Blues the St Louis Blues just escaped going overtime with the scored tied 4-4 and the Blues Jordan Kyrou scored the game winner at 10:28. Final was 5-4 Blues. Same two teams meet again on Wednesday night at the Enterprise Center.

#5 The Columbus Blue Jackets picked up their first win of 2021 with a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. The Jackets scorers Oliver Bjorkstrand, Alexandre Texier, and Pierre Luc Dubois.

#2 The Philadelphia Flyers continue to roll with a 5-2 win over visiting New York Rangers at Wells Fargo Center. Claude Giroux scored twice and the Rangers lost Chris Kreider to a fractured ankle.

#3 Alex Stalock stopped 24 shots getting his fourth shutout of 2019-20 season as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-0. The Wild dominated from the puck drop.

#4 The Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson saved 28 shots against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a narrow 3-2 win at the Duck Pond in Anaheim. The Pens who come into San Jose tonight are on a five game losing streak.

#5 The Las Vegas Golden Knights picked up a 4-2 win against the Buffalo Sabers on Friday night as the Knights Reilly Smith scored two goals to pace Vegas to victory.

#1 The Vegas Golden Knights Alec Martinez had a goal and an assist in his first game with the Knights that help defeat the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 on Thursday night at T Mobile Center

#2 The Winnipeg Jets Mark Scheifele who went 12 games without a goal made up for lost time with a hat trick scoring three power play goals in the Jets victory over the Ottawa Senators 5-1

#3 The Toronto Maple Leafs shut out the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0 as the Leafs goaltender Frederik Anderson stopped 24 shots. The Leafs Jake Muzzin score a goal with two assists.

#4 The Philadelphia Flyers Kevin Hayes got an overtime goal at 3:51 that was the difference in the Flyers 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in Toronto. Stefan Matteau Jr scored his first goal since March 10, 2016.

#5 The St Louis Blues got a 1-0 shutout against the Arizona Coyotes as the Blues Ryan O’Reilly scored the games on goal and goaltender Jordan Binnington made 14 saves  for the shutout.

#1 The San Jose Sharks picked up their third win in four games defeating the Winnipeg Jets Saturday night 3-2. The Sharks Marcus Sorenson, Melker Karlsson and Timo Meier score one goal each.

#2 Jason Zucker of the Pittsburgh Penguins scored twice in his first game as a Penguin It was Zucker’s 15th and 16th of the season after coming to Pittsburgh in the 4-1 win  over the Montreal Canadiens.

#3 The New York Rangers got a 2-1 lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets when Chris Kreider found the back of the net in the Rangers 3-1 win. Rangers goaltender Alexander Georgiev stopped 36 shots.

#4 The Carolina Hurricanes Andrei Svechnikov got a second period goal the goal marked the sixth consecutive game for Svechnikov in his point streak. The Hurricanes picked up the 5-2 win over the New Jersey.

#5 The St Louis Blues Jay Bouwmeester may have played his last game after going into cardiac arrest in Anaheim medical staff re-started his heart by a defibrillator and had to have a battery powered device that will send an electrical shock to his heart in the event of a irregular heart beat

#1 After the collapse of teammate Jay Bouwmeester on the bench in a cardiac episode in Anaheim the game was postponed. The St Louis Blues played the Vegas Knights on Thursday night and lost 6-5. The Knights Jonathan Marchessault scored at 2:30 in overtime for the game winner.

#2 The Washington Capitals got by the Colorado Avalanche in overtime as the Caps TJ Oshie deflected a shot for a goal with just 2:04 left in the game and came back from two goals down to win 3-2

#3 The Tampa Bay Lightning got a two goal win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Bolts Andrei Vasilevskly stopped 29 shots in the 3-1 win. Yanni Gourde scored on a break away at 13:01in the second period that ended a 35 game drought

#4 The Calgary Flames shutout the Anaheim Ducks 6-0 with two goals scored a piece by Mikael Backlund and Mark Jankowski. The Flames had goalie Cam Talbot who stopped 44 shots.

#5 Buffalo Sabers won on a squeaker 4-3 beating the Columbus Blue Jackets as Victor Olofsson scored his second goal at 2:44 in overtime for the win.
