Field of Dreams (1989) is ranked among the top 10 best baseball movies ever made, often appearing in the top three alongside Bull Durham and The Natural. it was also only one of three baseball movies nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
This August 13 MLB Field of Dreams game will take place in Dyersville, Iowa. The game is airing on Netflix, returning to the iconic movie site using a 3,000-seat stadium. The Minnesota Twins will host the Philadelphia Phillies.
A Minor League Baseball game between the Iowa Cubs and St Paul Saints will precede it on August 11. The venue is a specially constructed professional ballpark designed to fit within the landscape of the original movie set, built 500 feet from it, with a capacity of approximately 8,000 fans.
