#1 It’s been a tough road for the Sacramento Kings (18-32) as they face off with the Philadelphia 76ers (29-19) on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Kings have lost five straight games. I know it’s a tough task but Kings head coach Alvin Gentry can only try and motivate the team to try and get this one Saturday to end the streak?

#2 The two last games for the Kings were barnburners for the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks. The Kings lost to the Celtics 125-75 on Tuesday and another loss to the Hawks on Wednesday night 121-104 neither were close games.

#3 On Wednesday night it was announced before the game in Atlanta that Kings guard Terence Davis had injured his right wrist on Tuesday night against the Celtics at TD Garden when he fell hard on the wrist, Davis has been listed as out with the injury indefinitely.

#4 On offense for the Kings on Wednesday night Harrison Barnes had 28 points and Davion Mitchell had 20 points were the two leading scorers but it just wasn’t enough to catch the Hawks.

#5 The Kings now tip off with the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. The 76ers no doubt a worthy opponent have won seven of their last ten games and defeated the Lakers last night 105-87. The Sixers Joel Embiid was the top scorer with 26 points do you see the Kings having their hands full on Saturday night?

#1 Big loss for the Sacramento Kings (18-32) as they announced after Wednesday night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks that Kings guard Terence Davis will be out indefinitely with a injured right wrist. Kings head coach Alvin Gentry says the Kings medical staff are exploring all kinds of treatments to get Davis back in the line up.

#2 It was in Boston when Davis took a hard fall test revealed that Davis had damaged tendons and they’ll miss Davis out of the line up whose been averaging 10 points for the Kings.

#3 Tony the Kings are on a five game losing streak after loses to such teams as the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and Atlanta Hawks, tough teams with nothing else for the Kings to do but to play them and see what the outcome will be.

#4 Former King Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18 points and came off a knee injury and  Onyeka Okongwu also came off the bench and scored 18 points after the Hawks had a slow start against the Kings on Wednesday night to surpass and get a substantial win.

#5 The Kings face the Philadelphia 76ers (28-19) on Sat Jan 29th at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Sixers have won seven out of their last ten games and the Kings are trying to snap a five game losing streak. It’s a tall order for the Kings as they face the 76ers on Saturday.

Kings Drop Fifth In a Row To Atlanta 121-104

Wednesday night the Sacramento Kings (18-32) took on the Hawks (22-25) in Atlanta at State Farm Arena. Lately the Hawks have making some noise winning four games in a row and are just a single game behind the Washington Wizards for the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Kings come into this game after getting pummeled by the Boston Celtics Tuesday night by the score of 128-75. Losing by 53 points this was the second worst loss in any NBA season by any team.

Between the loss that the Kings just suffered and the high level that the Hawks are playing at especially on defense this could be a huge challenge for the Kings. They need to put the Celtic game behind them and look forward to Wednesday’s game, it was not to be for the Kings who lost again for their fifth straight game this time to the Hawks 121-104.

The Kings had a nice first quarter leading 33-21 but it all came crashing down on them in the second quarter. The twelve point lead they held in the first quarter was gobbled up by the ferocious shooting of the Hawks.

That coupled with shutting down the Kings offense gave the Hawks the lead at half-time 67-50. The Hawks won the second quarter 46-17. The Kings had led by twelve after one quarter and then trailed the Hawks by 29 points in the second quarter. That was a huge point swing and the second half looked especially ominous for Sacramento.

The Kings were still without De”Aaron Fox but despite that, the Kings were being outplayed by Atlanta. Sacramento is going downhill at a rapid clip and there doesn’t really seem to be much they can do about it. They could be headed for their fifth loss in a row tonight.

The Kings got close in the third quarter but with such a steep deficit it was a tall order to try and catch the Hawks. Sacramento trailed 94-74 going into the fourth quarter.

The Kings had a very competitive second half but it is so tough to reside behind the eight ball that was the first half.

Harrison Barnes led the Kings with 28 points. The Hawks leading scorers were Bogdan Bogdanovic and Onyeka Okongwu both with 18 points.

This fifth loss for the Kings continues their downward spiral that seems to have no end. They desperately need De”Aaron Fox back on the court and hopefully his return will be sooner rather than later.

Saturday night the Kings are back at it taking on the 76ers in Philadelphia. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 PM.

#1 Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets tip off with the Sacramento Kings (18-17) tonight in Denver. The Kings are coming off a 108-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night in Sacramento. The Kings have lost seven of their last nine games.

#2 More from Wednesday’s game the Hawks Kevin Huerter led with 25 points and in the last 38 seconds of the game Huerter scored five points the Hawks grabbed a six point win over the Kings.

#3 Huerter had 11 rebounds getting his first double double this year for the Kings. Huerter was a tough customer to shut down all Wednesday night.

#4 The Hawks were short players due to them being on the Covid 19 protocols list and the Kings were on back to back games. The Hawks executed enough on offense just to get over the top for the win.

#5 The Kings are in Denver tonight. The Nuggets lost their last game on Wednesday night to the Utah Jazz 115-109. The Nuggets have played .500 ball having won six out their last six games.

SACRAMENTO–Tuesday review:The Sacramento Kings (16-24) were back in action on Wednesday evening in Sacramento. The Kings took a brief trip away from Golden One Center to play the Lakers in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The Kings played hard against the Lakers, but ultimately, an unfortunate clock malfunction and error by De’Aaron Fox along with typical Lebron James scoring did in the Kings 122-114 on Tuesday night.

Wednesday night recap: On Wednesday, the Kings welcomed the Atlanta Hawks (17-20) to Golden One Center. The Kings fell to the Hawks 108-102 on Wednesday night at Golden One Center.

In the first quarter, the game was off to a slow start. The Kings and the Hawks were coming off a game the night before. The Kings played the night before in Los Angeles, and it showed in the first quarter.

The Kings defense looked tired as they were outscored by the Hawks 33-24 in the first quarter of action. The Hawks offense looked like it was firing on all cylinders, and the defense didn’t look bad either. The Kings would need to ramp up the intensity in the second quarter.

In the second quarter, the Kings defense did a better containing the Hawks offense. The Kings held the Hawks to only 21 points in the second quarter. Unfortunately, the Kings couldn’t pick it up on the offensive end.

The Kings also scored 21 points in the second quarter to match the Hawks. The Kings were led in the first half by Buddy Hield, who scored 11 points. The Hawks were led in the first half by Delon right, who scored 11 points. The Kings would take a 54-45 deficit into the second half, looking to turn the tide in the third quarter.

In the third quarter, the Kings played their best quarter of the game. The Kings outscored the Hawks 30-24 as the Kings improved on the offensive end. Typically, the Kings collapse in the third quarter, but this one was different. The Kings showed an encouraging poise to cut into the deficit. Could the Kings complete the comeback in the final quarter? The Kings went into the fourth quarter down 78-75.

In the fourth quarter, the Kings played hard but ultimately fell short against the Hawks. Atlanta outscored the Kings 30-27 in the final quarter, and it was too much for the Kings to overcome. As a result, the Kings fell to the Hawks 108-102. The Kings as a unit struggled to score on Wednesday night. The best performances came from De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 30 and 24, respectively.

Buddy Hield scored 11 points on the night, but those all came in the first half; he went scoreless in the second half. Kevin Huerter led the way for the Hawks as he scored 25 points on the night. It was a disappointing loss for the Kings since they faced an undermanned Atlanta Hawks team. The Kings fell to 16-24, and the Hawks improved to 17-20 on the season.

Up Next: The Kings will travel to Denver to take on the Nuggets on Friday at 6 PM PST.

Curry Lights Up the Night As the Warriors Beat Atlanta 127-113

Despite a 15 point deficit in the second quarter Golden State (9-1) battled back and handed the Atlanta Hawks (4-7) their fourth loss in a row. Stephen Curry spurred the comeback finishing with 50 points in an amazing second half performance.

Monday night the Golden State Warriors took on an angry, hungry Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks have not only lost three games in a row but their last game against the Suns was a very close contest. The Hawks lost that game by four points and Atlanta had no intention of losing a fourth game. The Hawks fight as hard as they may couldn’t catch the Warriors and did end up losing their fourth straight game 127-113.

In the first quarter the Warriors trailed by two points 34-32 and they were being outplayed at times throughout the quarter.

In the second quarter the Hawks brought more than the Warriors could handle. The Hawks began doing whatever they wanted and they were completely outplaying Golden State. The Warriors were down by 15 in the quarter which is the most they have trailed any team all season.

It seemed that the only Warrior that was scoring was Curry. Kevon Looney had three personal fouls and had to sit out the quarter. The Warriors were down by four points at the end of the half after trailing by 15, 65-61. It was all Curry already shooting 24 points in the half. The Hawks were pushing them to their limits. The third quarter should be a dandy as Golden State was starting to come around as the second quarter ended.

Golden State had to hit more shots in the second half of this game. It was of course great to see Curry’s shot production at the half but he needed support from the rest of the team. Probably the most pressing issue was containing the duo of Trae Young and John Collins who was six of six for 18 points in the first half. They had to put the stops on both of these guys.

We saw a different team in the third quarter as Golden State was able to not only tie the game but take a five point lead 87-82 at 3:38. They were all over Young and Collins and as the third quarter came to an end Golden State was playing at a furious pace leading 102-85. The Warriors had gone on a 19-3 run in a complete reversal of roles. Golden State had taken control of this game rendering the Hawks ineffective. Again we saw how this team rises to the occasion in the second half.

Going into the fourth quarter the one thing we knew was that the Hawks were not going to roll over. They are a talented team and they can put up points in a hurry. This game was without doubt a tale of two halves. In the fourth quarter we saw a complete turnaround. It was Atlanta who was playing catch up, missing shots, turning the ball over and playing flat and sloppy. It was the consistent defensive effort by Golden State that turned this game around, wearing the Hawks down.

Next up for the Warriors will be the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday evening. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

#1 Barbara, there seems like there is just simply no way to put a stop to the Golden State Warriors (8-1) as they handled the Houston Rockets (1-9) 120-107 at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday night.

#2 With the win Golden State picked up their fourth straight win on this current home stand and the way they’ve been going it seems like there’s no stopping them.

#3 The Rockets on the other hand have been struggling the loss to Golden State on Sunday night was their eighth straight loss and they just don’t seem like anything close to the same club since the James Harden days.

#4 For Golden State Jordan Poole lead with 25 points and the ball has been passed to him quite a bit lately as he’s been appearing on the top of the leaderboard for the Warriors.

#5 The Warriors host the struggling Atlanta Hawks (4-6) who have lost three games in a row including a loss to the Phoenix Suns (5-3) on Saturday night 121 -117. Barbara give us a preview how you see tonight’s contest at the Chase Center between these two clubs.

#1 The Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo who missed his second straight game against the Atlanta Hawks out due to a knee injury could be assured that his talented teammates pressed on without him and won Saturday’s sixth game 118-107 to move onto the NBA Finals.

#2 Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the staple for the Bucks since his acquisition and he’s not doubt going to be a huge part of these finals coming off that knee injury.

#3 The last two games the Bucks won in games 5 and 6 and they made it look relatively easy with an 11 point win to close out the Hawks on Saturday night.

#4 The Phoenix Suns have handled many of their opponents in the post season and closed out the Los Angeles Clippers in game six last Wednesday 130-103. The Suns Chris Paul put away the Clippers almost single handedly with 41 points.

On the NBA Playoffs with J Hawkes:

#1 Joe, the Atlanta Hawks (1-0) are really showing what a powerful successful team they are with a first game victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) 128-124 on Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center.

#2 The Hawks Trae Young is over having pop corn spilled on him in New York during the first round of the playoffs and was spilling baskets against the Sixers leading in team scoring with 35 points which all counted in a four point first game win.

#3 Game two is Tuesday night in Philadelphia the Hawks Young has been leading scorer, Bogdan Bogdanovic was second in scoring with 21 and Kevin Huerter was third in scoring with 15. For the 76ers Joel Embiid top scorer on Sunday with 39 and four 76ers finished in double figures. Joe how do you get a read on game 2?

#4 It wasn’t even close the LA Clippers had offensive control, they had ball possession and the Mavericks certainly were struggling to shut down the Clippers shots.
