#1  Colin Graf made headlines on Thursday night for the San Jose Sharks. Graf an undrafted rookie showed his handy work scoring twice. Will Smith scored a goal and an assist as the Sharks defeat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2.

#2 Mary, talk about the job that Sharks goaltender Alexander Georgiev did between the pipe stopping 24 shots and allowing two goals and holding Chicago just enough for the Sharks to come away with a two goal win.

#3 The Sharks Tyler Toffoli added the scoring with an empty netter for insurance in the win. Toffoli was fired up needless to say after scoring. It’s goals like these that can get a team motivated?

#4 Smith opened up the game in the first period with a goal at 3:48 getting a pass from Macklin Celebrini. Smith now has seven goals, 12 assists and 19 points in his last 19 games.

#5 The Sharks in a Saturday matinee will host the Washington Capitals at SAP Center for a 2:00pm faceoff. Needless to say the all the attention will be on the Capitals Alexander Ovechkin who needs nine more goals to pass all time NHL scoring leader Wayne Gretzky to achieve his 895th goal.

Sharks snap 3-game losing streak, Graf 2 goal night in win over Blackhawks 4-2

SAN JOSE–The San Jose Sharks took on the Nashville Predators for the third time this season. This was the first match-up between these two bottom teams this season.The last time these two teams faced off was on April 23rd in San Jose as the Sharks fell 5-4, 18 seconds into overtime.

Thomas Bordeleau and Fabian Zetterlund both netting goals in the loss. The Sharks came away with a satisfying 4-2 win to snap their three game skid on Thursday night at SAP Center.

Noah Gregor made his “Sharks debut” in Thursday’s night’s Cali fin uniforms. Gregor was acquired in a trade that sent Fabian Zetterlund, a draft pick, and Tristen Robins to the Ottawa Senators.

Will Smith opened up the scoring at 3:48 of the first, scoring his 13th of the season. An example of good puck handling by William Eklund and Macklin Celebrini led to the goal. Previous to this, Eklund provided many opportunities by bringing the puck up.

The Sharks were all over the ice. They extended their lead at 10:16 of the second, Collin Graf with his 3rd of the season. Alexander Wennberg and Mario Ferraro registering the assists.

Chicago cut into San Jose’s lead at 0:10 of the second when Frank Nazar netted his 6th of the season. The Blackhawks had just come off of a powerplay five seconds earlier. The seventh ranked powerplay team missed their first opportunity.

San Jose’s powerplay units got to work scoring their 38th PPG of the season. Collin Graf with his second goal of the night, Will Smith and Shakir Mukhamadullin registering the assists. Smith with his second point of the night.

Chicago cut into the San Jose lead again on a five on five goal. Goodrow and Dickinson had both previously gone to the box for fighting. Ilya Mikheyev with his 15th of the season, Ryan Donato and Teuvo Teravainen registering the assists.

Tyler Toffoli scored an empty net goal to secure the win, snapping a three game losing streak.

The Sharks will be back in action on Saturday back at SAP Center. They will be hosting the Washington Capitals, the last time these two teams faced off was on December 3rd when San Jose came out with a 2-1 overtime win.

Sharks Get to 40 Losses Against Predators in 3-2 decision

After a tough loss against the New York Islanders, The boys are back at the tank again.

SAN JOSE, CA — Last home game on Saturday was hard for the boys in Teal because it was the first game at home in more than a month due to the Four Nations Tournament. The Sharks suffered a 4-1 loss against the New York Islanders, a team that is in the hunt for a playoff spot. Tuesday night, The boys are back for a second game at home against the Nashville Predators.

Leading up to this game, the Preds are in a hot streak, winning three of their last five games while the Sharks hope not to add the 40th loss of the season. It was a tough outcome one again as San Jose dropped a 3-2 contest to the Predators after trying to make a comeback in third period scoring two goals and coming one short for the loss.

The game unravelled with physicality, intensity, and penalties. Two fights between V. Desharnais Fighting against C. Smith and B. Goodrow Fighting against A. Englund set the mood for a match that during the first period was marked by tension and opportunities for both teams.

During the second period, Nashville looked constantly precise in terms of playmaking that eventually led to the first goal of the night eight minutes into the second period, Filip Forsberg who registered his 25th goal of this season, minutes later the former Tampa Bay Lightning, Steven Stamkos joined him with the second goal of the night.

The figure of the night was Juuse Saros, Predators goaltender, who had a magnificent night and an absolute performance by stopping 13 shots on goal, undoubtedly a key player tonight.

During the second period, Sharks kept the scoring for them in zero.

Then, in the third period, things changed a bit, and this time it seemed to be in favor of the Sharks. Patrick Giles scored his first goal of the season, while Colin Graf scored his second of the season, with a record ten seconds between each goal.

The joy didn’t last long, though, as Kieffer Bellows scored the last Nashville goal of the night for the Predators, putting them up by a goal. Once again, penalty kill errors buried the loss for the San Jose Sharks that reached 40 losses Tuesday night.

The Teal comes back to action this Thursday night when San Jose hosts the Chicago Blackhawks, a very anticipated game as the crowd in attendance will witness two former first rounder draft picks in the first ever Celebrini- Connor Bedard clash faceoff at 7:30pm PST.

#1 New York Islanders Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored a goal and had two assists and IIya Sorokin the Isles goaltender saved 38 shots as the Islanders defeated the Sharks on Saturday night.

#2 The Islanders Anders Lee, Anthony Duclair and Adam Boqvist each scored a goal. The win gives New York their fourth out of the last five games.

#3 The struggles continue for the Sharks who have lost ten of their last 12 games. The Sharks got production out of Macklin Celebrini who had two assists and goaltender Alexander Georgiev stopped 24 shots against New York.

#4 The Sharks try and move onto their next game against the Nashville Predators who have struggled on the road with a 7-20-4 record. The Predators are 24-32-4 overall. In spite of their road struggles the Predators are currently on a three game win streak.

#5 Sharks William Eklund has 14 goals with 24 assists and Tyler Toffoli has five goals and four assists in his last ten games. These two can play a role in helping the Sharks find some more offense and helping them get back in the win column.

Back at the tank… we all missed it as the Tank recorded more than 17,000 in attendance

SAN JOSE, CA — It’s a great feeling to return to the tank. After the noise of the Four Nations tournament, some games on the road, and all the action around the trade deadline, Sharks hockey was absent for more than a month. Now, the Sharks are back at home, hosting the New York Islanders, who are in the hunt to make the playoffs.

The New York Rangers come to the tank eager to add another victory when they played the Winnipeg Jets with a 3-2 score. Coincidentally, against the best team in the West. On the other hand, the Sharks played the Avalanche last Wednesday night, when things did not really go well as it has been a little usual lately.

The Islanders started the night red hot with two goals during the first period when New York showed business and scored the 1-0 by Jean Gabriel Pageau, ten minutes passed the first one, New York was granted a power-play after a penalty, Anthony Duclair assisted by Simon Holmstrom, Noah Dobson. First intermission marked to an end with the visitors ahead by two.

Moving on to the 2nd period, the Sharks recovered depth and strength. Indeed, it is what it showed with a lone goal by Nikolai Kovalenko with beautiful assists by Shakir Mukhamadullin and Macklin Celebrini.

The locals pushed for more aggressiveness, pressure, and physicality. It was not enough time to score another one, but it seemed the Sharks pushed and found ways to net the equalizer at the tank. The second never came.

During the third, the Sharks once again demonstrated their inefficiencies and weaknesses, and the lack of chemistry. It is not a surprise against a team that is fighting for a playoff spot in a tough division, the difference is noticeable.

New York netted two goals in a matter of two minutes, between each one, goals orchestrated by Anders Lee and Adam Boqvist in the early third.

New York took advantage of the mental aspects of the game, and was displayed as the Sharks showed less intensity, unable to fight back, and unable to retrieve the puck. Until later in the game, the Sharks fought back to score a second power play goal. leaving the game 4-2 for the visiting Islanders.

The people of San Jose responded by attending the game, as the local crowd of 17,435 waits to see the team winning again, the Teal will have a chance to do it on Tuesday night against a team of roughly the same, the Nashville Predators at home.

#1 Charanbir lets go through the list of Sharks trades that were made this week starting with left wing Fabian Zetterlund, center Tristin Robbins and a 2025 number 4 draft pick to the Ottawa Senators for center Zack Ostapchuk, a 2025 second round pick, center Gregor Noah.

#2 The Sharks traded center Luke Kunin to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2025 fourth round draft pick.

#3 The Edmonton Oilers traded to the Sharks center Karl Berglund and a 2026 number one draft pick for defenseman Jake Walman.

#4 The Sharks dealt forward Nico Sturm and and a 2027 seventh round selection to the Florida Panthers for a 2026 fourth round selection. Also earlier the Sharks dealt goaltender Vitek Vanecek to the Panthers.

#5 With Vanecek, Zetterlund, Robbins, Kunin, Walman, and Nico Sturm there is no doubt the Sharks are sellers will they rebuild with younger players or will they also be a player in the free agent market in the off season?

#1 The Colorado Avalanche Cale Makar scored two goals and four assists becoming the first defenseman in Aves history to have a six point game. Was this a matter of Makar was just having a great get out of the way night or the Sharks defense just couldn’t get acclimated?

#2 The Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon added two more goals and had three assists that help extend his streak of home points to 18 games.

#3 The Avalanche had goals from Jonathan Drouin, Joel Kiviranta, Martin Necas in the offensive onslaught that got Colorado fourth win on their current six game homestand. The Aves have now won 12 straight games against the Sharks.

#4 The Sharks got scoring help from Fabian Zetterlund, Macklin Celebrini and William Eklund for all three goals for San Jose. The Sharks wrapped up their seven game road trip with a 2-3-2 record. Before their game in Colorado the Sharks traded forward Nico Sturm and on Friday the Sharks traded Luke Kunin to the Columbia Blue Jackets.

#5 The Sharks return home Saturday night to face off against the New York Islanders are sixth in Metropolitan Division and have lost six of their last ten games. How do you see this match up for Saturday night.

Sharks Lose 7-3 to Avalanche, Celebrini Scores 20th

The San Jose Sharks fell 7-3 to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. Joel Kiviranta, Cale Makar, Jonathan Drouin, Martin Necas and Nathan MacKinnon scored for the Avalanche. Mackenzie Blackwood made 31 saves for the win against his former team. Fabian Zetterlund, Macklin Celebrini and William Eklund scored for the Sharks. Alexandar Georgiev made 25 saves in the loss to his former team.

The first goal of the game was a short-handed one from Colorado. Joel Kiviranta scored it at 4:19 of the first period. Cale Makar knocked the puck away from Macklin Celebrini in the Sharks’ zone. Kiviranta carried it all the way to the other end for the shot.

A few minutes later, Colorado scored on the power play. Skating in from the blue line, Cale Makar caught a pass from Jonathan Drouin and scored on Georgiev’s stick side. Assists went to Drouin and Nathan MacKinnon.

Fabian Zetterlund got one back for the Sharks, on the power play at 10:08. Lurking just outside the blue paint, Zetterlund rediretced a shot from Collin Graf behi8nd Blackwood.

Jonathan Drouin made it 3-1 in the last three seconds of the period. Martin Necas passed the puck through the blue paint to Drouin for the goal. An assist also went to Artturi Lehkonen.

Martin Necas scored another power play goal just 40 seconds into the second period. Cale Makar set up the slap shot for Necase. An assist also went to MacKinnon.

Nathan MacKinnon scored the first even strength goal of the game at 10:54 of the second. Cale Makar shot it in and it went wide, then off of the backboards. It boucned right to MacKinnon next to the goal mouth for a snap shot. Assists went to Makar and Josh Manson.

In the final second of the second period, Keaton Middleton put the puck in the net but it was called off due to goaltender interference. It would have been Middleton’s first NHL goal.

MacKinnon scored another even strength goal at 5:21 of the third period to make it 6-1. On a rebound, the puck came right to MacKinnon as he skated to the net. Lehkonen and Makar got the assists.

Macklin Celebrini scored one for the Sharks at 8:10, putting the puck in the top of the net on a power play. It was Celebrini’s 20th goal for the season. Assists went to Will Smith and William Eklund.

Cale Makar restored the five-goal lead with a wrist shot less than a minute after Celebrini’s goal.

William Eklund scored the third Sharks goal at 17:24, the Sharks’ first even strength goal of the game. Three Colorado players were trying to corral the puck right in front of the blue paint. Eklund slid in between them and poked it into the net. Assists went to Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Wennberg.

Colorado out-shot the Sharks 13-9 in the first period. In the second period, it was 13-6 Colorado. In the third period the Sharks made a push, out-shooting Colorado 19-6.

The Sharks next play on Saturday back in San Jose against the New York Islanders at 7:00 PM PT.

Sharks Win 6-2 Over Sabres, Georgiev Wins Back-to-Back Games

The San Jose Sharks defeated the Buffalo Sabres 6-2 on Tuesday. Timothy Liljegren, Nico Sturm, Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Tyler Toffoli scored for San Jose. Alexandar Georgiev made 20 saves for San Jose the win. JJ Peterka and Tage Thommpson scored for Buffalo. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 22 saves in the loss.

After a loss in Montreal, Nico Sturm said that the Sharks were having trouble extending their lead, that they needed to “just score another goal.” The team did that Tuesday night with four goals in the third period. Sharks Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky said: “Our guys were committed to it. You could tell from the beginning of puck drop we wanted to win the hockey game. We went on the attack.”

Two wins in a row has not been easy for the Sharks, but these wins had the distinction of being on back to back nights, with an overtime and shootout the first night, and the same Sharks goalie in both games. It was a somewhat unusual schedule for the San Jose goaltender: “I wouldn’t say it threw off my routine. Just probably not a lot of sleep. After the last win, I was pretty hyped. Yeah I felt… just trying to battle it out in the first period, have a good first and see what happened.”

After a scoreless first period, the Sharks scored 1:01 into the second period. Timothy Liljegren caught a cross-ice pass from William Eklund and took a shot. The puck slid under Luukkonen and went just over the line. The officials did not see it and play went on. A later review called it a goal. Assists went to Eklund and Jake Walman.

JJ Peterka tied it at 5:13 on a power play. Peterka scored with a slap shot off of a set up by Rasmus Dahlin. Assists went to Dahlin and Jack Quinn.

Nico Sturm gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead at 18:22. Collin Graf passed the puck across the ice and it went off of a Sabres defender. Sturm was right on hand to catch that stray puck and put it away. Assists went to Graf and Klim Kostin.

The Sharks out-shot the Sabres 11-5 in the first period. The Sabres took two penalties in the first, and the Sharks took two in the second. The Sabres had a tiny edge in shots for the second period, 11-10.

William Eklund extended the lead to 3-1 at early in the third period. Catching a pass off the boards from Toffoli, he shot the puck from just above the goal line. Toffoli and Shakir Mukhamadullin got the assists.

Tage Thompson trimmed that lead at 6:55 with a slap shot off a pass from Peterka. An assist also went to Connor Clifton.

Just over a minute later, Macklin Celebrini scored his 19th of the season. He had just come off the bench and the Sharks were swarming the net. Mukhamadullin passed the puck across the ice to Celebrini for a wrist shot. An assist also went to Will Smith.

Smith scored at 12:49 to make it 5-2. Smith caught a pass off the boards from Fabian Zetterlund in the Sharks’ end. He then skated all the way to the other end, evading the Sabres defense to score his 11th of the season.

Tyler Toffoli scored into an empty net at 18:01. Assists went to Jake Walman and Timothy Liljegren.

On the trade front, Vitek Vanecek was held out of Tuesday’s game in anticipation of a trade. Which team the Sharks are dealing with has not been announced.

The Sharks next play on Thursday in Colorado against the Avalanche at 6:30 PM PT.

Sharks Rally to Defeat Maple Leafs 3-2 in Shootout; Win ends San Jose’s 8 game loss streak

The San Jose Sharks won 3-2 in a shootout against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack Thompson and Tyler Toffoli scored for the Sharks. Toffoli and Fabian Zetterlund scored to win the shootout. Alexandar Georgiev made 25 saves and three in the shootout for the win. John Tavares and Matthew Knies scored for the Maple Leafs, and William Nylander scored in the shootout. Anthony Stolarz made 20 saves and two in the shootout loss.

The win ended an eight-game losing streak and, for the Leafs, it ended a five-game win streak. The Sharks not only won, but came back from a two goal deficit to start the third period. Also to the Sharks’ credit, the two goals they gave up came on the power play. The game was hard won for the Sharks.

John Tavares scored the first goal after a scoreless first period. At 8:28 of the second, Tavares tipped a shot from Mitch Marner on a power play. Assists went to Marner and Nylander.

Matthew Knies made it 2-0 at 19:55 of the second, again on the power play. Knies redirected Auston Matthews’ shot from the goal line. An assist also went to Tavares.

Jack Thompson started the Sharks comeback at 2:23 of the third. Alexander Wennberg sent the puck in from the blue line. The shot went off of the boards behi8nd the net and back up to Thompson for a shot form above the faceoff dot. Assists went to Wennberg and William Eklund.

Tyler Toffoli tied the game at 10:10. Wennberg carried the puck into the zone, around behind the net and then centered it for a waiting Toffoli. An assist also went to Shakir Mukhamadullin.

In the shootout, Georgiev stopped Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and John Tavares. William Nylander scored.

Stolarz stopped Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith. Tyler Toffoli and Fabian Zetterlund scored.

The Sharks next play on Tuesday at 4:00 PM PT in Buffalo against the Sabres.
