Kings Fall In Cousins Return

By Tony Renteria

DeMarcus Cousins made is return after his bout with viral meningitis but even he could not help the as the visiting Milwaukee Bucks(13-13) handed the Sacramento Kings(11-14) another loss 108-107.

Cousins had 27 points and 11 rebounds in 33 minutes of action in his return.  Cousins who did look tired at times is looking to come back to his early form before his illness where many in the league had his considered any early candidate for MVP.

by Tony Renteria

Even though the new arena and a new age of Sacramento Kings basketball awaits with the start of the new downtown arena the basketball side seemed to repeat itself as the Sacramento Kings (0-0) drop the opening to the visiting Golden State Warriors (0-0) 95-77.

The Kings were in the game until the third quarter when the Kings fell behind by12 points in the quarter.  While most Kings fans thought that both DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay learned how to win by being members of Team USA Basketball, they both failed to command the game but shooting close to 33%.   Cousins brought in 20 points and Gay added 14.

Thunder Warm Up for Post Season on Kings

By Tony Renteria

Sacramento CA:

The Sacramento Kings(27-50) hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder(56-21) tonight, the Thunder who have wrapped up their division title took an early lead in the second quarter kept up the momentum and cruised to a 107-92 road win.

The only highlight for the Kings was snapping Kevin Durant’s scoring streak of 25 or more points in a game at 41 games.  This highlight was dimmed by the fact the Durant played less than 32 minutes as the Thunder used the bench most of the fourth quarter while expanding on their lead.

Travis Outlaw and DeMarcus Cousins both scored 24 points each as no other Member of the team scored more than eleven points.  The Kings were without Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas who both average over 20 points per game.

The Kings missed those much need points as they played one of the hottest teams in the league, they just simply lacked the firepower to keep up with the Thunder.

The Thunder head south tomorrow to play the Clippers, while the Kings head north to play Portland.

Knicks Knock Off Kings

By Tony Renteria

The New York Knicks(30-42) came into Sacramento to play the home town Kings(25-46) on a storming Wednesday night and brought a storm of their own as they handled the Kings in route into a 107-99 road win.

Near the end of the 2014 season the Kings still need to find a way to put away teams at there level at home.   They are up and down all season but at home where they are suppose to find some balance, they still struggle.

The Knicks were lead by Carmelo Anthony and his 36 points and held off a rally near the end by the Kings, but as this season has proven the Kings are still trying to learn how to play NBA basketball.

DeMarcus Cousins is still improving as he had 32 points and 15 rebounds.

The Knicks close to securing a playoff berth played well coming off a loss down south the Lakers in the previous game.   The Kings head to Oklahoma City to play the Thundar on Friday night.
