Thats Amaury’s News and Commentary: Playoff fever is here as Giants and A’s battle for top spot in wild card

by Amaury Pi Gonzalez

OAKLAND–Right now the A’s are trying to win one of the two wild cards competing with the Royals but Seattle and Kansas City are not too far behind. There’s a total of six games left in the season and with just two wild cards left. The rotation for this series reads like a playoff series for Los Angeles CJ Wilson and for Oakland Jeff Samardzija, for Tuesday the Angels start Wade LeBlanc (0-1 ERA 5.24) and for the A’s Sonny Gray (13-9 ERA 3.28) and on Wednesday for LA Hector Santiago (5-9 ERA 3.13) for Oakland Jon Lester (16-10 ERA 2.41).

This is an unpredictable series and it’s baseball anything can happen and the Angles swept the A’s not too long ago. The A’s got swept recently by Texas so anything can happen but this first game is the best chance for the Angels. On Tuesday Gray is the favorite although Gray in the second half of the season and has not been winning and his ERA has been raised but the Angels LeBlanc is a guy from the bullpen.

The Angels have two pitchers out hurt Matt Shoemaker a right handed pitcher is out and of course they lost Garrett Richards so their having problems with injuries in the rotation but the A’s on Tuesday will have the upperhand. Jon Lester is going for Oakland on Wednesday night and he’s the best pitcher the A’s have (16-10 ERA 2.41) he wasn’t with Oakland in the first half of the season and it was a controversal trade sending the A’s Yoenis Cespedes to Boston for Lester.

I would have to say the A’s would be favored as Lester should win the game on Wednesday just on Lester’s pitching. Angels starter Hector Santiago who is up and down he was actually suppose to be the third starter for the Angels and didn’t amount to much. He went to the bull pen because the Angels needed him to shore up his pitching. This is a critical series for the A’s but it should be one for the ages playing against the Angels in a crunch time situation like this.

San Francisco Giants update: The Giants who started out Monday tied for first place in the National League wild card.Giant pitcher Jake Peavy matched up against the LA Dodgers Dan Haren. The rest of the series rotation for the Giants on Tuesday Madison Baumgarner (18-9) vs. the Dodgers Zack Grenike (15-8)and on Thursday the Giants started Tim Hudson (9-12) vs. the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw (20-3).

For the Giants going into this series it’s going to be a lot of work to get this one and they have alot riding on this one. Peavy was a good acquisition it was a very good move for Giants General Manager Brian Sabean. The three games at Dodgers Stadium are sold out. The Giants are in rough waters they’re going to have to win, their going to have to win two out of three they just got swept by the San Diego Padres so it’s going to be very tough for them these last few days.

In the National League West if you don’t beat the Padres or the Rockies then your going to have to beat a team like the Dodgers who are very tough. Look at Kershaw he’s going to be the Cy Young winner he’s already going to be the MVP also. He going to win his fourth ERA in a row. It’s a tough postion for the Giants it looks like their running out of gas we’ll have to see how they fair in this series in Los Angeles.

The Giants will really depend on Giants slugger Buster Posey hitting .309 with 21 homers, and 86 RBIs, Pablo Sandoval is very inconsistent, Joe Panik has done a good job at second base but still without Angel Pagan they don’t have that dynomo that spark plug but Posey is the team’s superstar.

NCAA Commentary: Winston sits or warms up as Seminoles win; Bears almost clear Wildcats; Alabama offense has record day

by Michelle Richardson

Florida State University (3-0) quarterback Jameis Winston sat all throughout the Seminoles victory over the Clemson Tigers (1-2) 23-17 on Saturday. Winston was sitting over a half game suspension for yelling an anti women’s obscenity in the Florida State cafeiteria in front of fellow students. The fact that Winston is a Hiesman Trophy winning starting quarterback at the premier school in the nation and jumped up on a table in the cafeteria in the middle of the student union and yelled out an obscenity warranted a full game suspension.

I don’t care what the other factors are, I’m glad that Florida State administrators saw the light on this and acted. Winston also was warming up despite being suspended for the first half of the game we don’t know what that is about. There is just a question why Winston was in full pads and warming up when he was suspended for the whole game. Winston looked dumbfounded when he was ordered to go back in the locker room by Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher.

Winston looked like he couldn’t believe that he was being sent back and had to change out of his uniform. Sean McGuire did a great job at quarterback going 305 yards, 21 completions, one touchdown and he was sacked five times. I ran into some Clemson fans and they said Clemson lost that game and I said, “Clemson didn’t lose that game it was the defensive line that won that game for Florida State” FSU had all of their starters in. It was a very good game and the star of that game was FSU tight end Nick O’Leary who had six catches and made the key catches that helped Florida St gain some ground on.

Arizona (4-0) just edges Cal (2-1) 49-45: The Cal Bears lost just by a game winning Hail Mary pass and this is a huge improvement for a team that won only one game all last season and almost beat Arizona which would have been their first Pac 12 victory since 2012. The Bears came into Tucson with a 2-0 record to face the Wild Cats. It takes great new leadership to make things like this happen and since former head coach Jeff Tedford’s departure and Sonny Dykes who took over last season things have improved.

Tedford had been there a little too long and the Bears needed some new blood and they got that. The bigger story is that Hail Mary that Arizona threw to win that game it reminded me of a game between Georgetown and Villanova in basketball. It ain’t over until it’s over, you never count anything out until you have zeros lined up on the clock. That’s an embarrassing situation for Cal losing by four and a squeaker for Cal.

Dykes has been turning the tide and when they play a game like that against Arizona that means the Bears are turning and their turning in the right direction. They got a couple of wins in before their visit to Arizona. The best possible chance for the Bears in the longest of longest chances a possible lower level Bowl game.

Alabama’s quarterback Blake Sims with great offensive day: This is what Alabama (4-0) does when you really look at it they win ball games like this with the Saturday win over Florida (2-1) 42-21. Alabama Wide receiver Amari Cooper caught ten passes for 201 yards, and three touchdowns giving him 20 receiving touchdowns for his career that’s a school record in Alabama. This is what Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban does his quarterbacks just air it out.

Alabama is one of those teams that once they put their foot on your neck they don’t ever want to take it off. This was a powerful showing and everybody in the SEC knows Alabama is here and their the team to beat. Alabama quarterback Blake Sims had a career day throwing for 445 yards for 23 completions and four touchdowns, Sims threw an 87 yard touchdown pass to Kenyan Drake on the first series and a 79 yard touchdown to Cooper.

Sims was besides himself in disbelief of his performance, “I didn’t think it was possible, I just try to take what I take and what the defense gives me, and just try to trust my guys that they’re going to be there” Saban was impressed too and said that other teams who try to defend Sims give Sims respect as the opposing quarterback, “people have to respect his passing, he has made too many plays for people not to respect him as a passer” said Saban.

A’s and Giants Commentary: A’s need to take the Phillies in this series to stay on top; Romo adjusting to set up role

by Michael Duca

Oakland A’s update: The Philadelphia Phillies starter David Buchanan on Friday gave up several seeing eye hits to A’s hitters and the A’s parlayed that into three runs and the A’s managed to make that into a 3-1 victory to open the series last night at the Oakland Coliseum which they desperately needed. The A’s during the Rangers series looked like they lost track of how many outs there were.

The A’s used to be able to beat up on the Rangers they were the worst team in baseball and you got to remember their former manager Ron Washington who resigned about 10-12 days ago. So the Rangers have a new manager Tim Bogar in there and the players will try to figure him out as well as Bogar trying to figure out the players and try to get guys some playing time before this season winds down, you never know what motivates the team.

On Friday night with Josh Reddick out of the line up they had to juggle the line up putting Sam Fuld in rightfield and it worked out as the A’s rallied in the second inning with three runs to put some runs up. The A’s left a runner on third who got thrown out and they had a couple of opportunities to score more runs and failed to do so.

San Francisco Giants update: For the Giants seven of their final ten games are against the Padres and no matter where the Padres play they always play the Giants straight up and very well. The biggest concern for Giants starter Tim Hudson it was his third consecutive game where he struggled this time in a 5-0 loss at Petco Park on Friday night.

Hudson has had hip problems from what he gets periodically and throughout his career and if Hudson is not available to go to the playoffs that might put a real serious threat to the Giants possibilities going forward. They don’t have Matt Cain and they don’t have Tim Lincecum in the starting rotation. If they don’t have Hudson there’s not a lot of depenable starters that have that post game experience on the staff.

Sergio Romo who is now the set up man and no longer the closer and he understands his new role. Romo is a team guy, he’s well loved in that clubhouse and he’s an important cog in that wheel in the Giants drive for number three. Santiago Casilla is closing now and manager Bruce Bochy made the decision to switch roles around for Romo and Casilla, “You have to look at the job Casilla is doing and the job Romo is doing, Romo, to his credit, set aside his ego. He’s done what we’ve asked. That’s the only way it’ll work. I compliment him for that. The eighth inning is a huge inning.” said Bochy.

NFL Commentary: Is it just a matter of time before Goodell steps down?

by David Zizmor

ALAMEDA–In regards to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell being forced to step down I wish it were the case that it was just a matter of time for Goodell to step down, I really do. All things that have been going on have highlighted the things he’s been deficient in as Commissioner. Under former NFL Commissioners Paul Tagliabue and Pete Rozelle we didn’t see this kind of mayhem.

The lack of coordination, this kind of disorganization their just really running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Then you get into a situaiton like this where you have multiple cases of domestic violence and child abuse piling on top of each other it just kind of highlights all the bad things. You end up realizing that the NFL is a big corporation, but if they care about morality, they don’t care about the off field lives of their players, the only thing they care about is the bottom line.

The reason Goodell has not been fired by the owners yet and the reason he has not resigned is he makes a lot of money for the league and the owners like that. Your talking about a guy whose turned this into a $10 billion a year sport. Until that changes, until there’s a direct impact flowing into the league’s coffers your really not going to see anything change.

Oakland Raiders update: The Oakland Raiders lost a pair of linebackers Sio Moore and Nick Roach and facing the New England Patriots might not make a difference losing two linebackers. If you look at the guys in Vegas looking at this were in the third game of the season and the Raiders are already 13 point underdogs and it tells you what people think of the outcome of this game Sunday.

If your an underdog in the third game of the season than everybody knows your really bad, that’s where the Raiders are they haven’t given any reason to think they should be confident and any reason for the Raiders to think the Raiders are good. I wouldn’t say the Raiders are going to go 0-16 but their just not a good team.

Their going to be in the tough half of the draft and the top five of the draft that would be my guess and linebackers or not their a big work in progress the biggest problem is that there hasn’t been a lot of progress over this time frame. Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has been cleaning house and getting rid of the guys, dead money under the cap, malcontents on the roster but they haven’t replaced them in the rebuilding process for right now it looks as if the Raiders are in a holding pattern.

San Franacisco 49ers update: The Jonathan Dwyer of the Arizona Cardinals is the bigger case going into Sunday’s game but let’s start with the 49ers Ray McDonald case for first. The big problem with this case there’s no informaton about what happened regarding a 911 call McDonald made about his wife had some bruises on her. In California that’s enough to get arrested for domestic violence.

California has laws that are very protected of the person whose the victim so that’s why McDonald was arrested. Since that time and it’s been a couple of weeks now the San Jose Police Department have been gathering evidence and interviewing people we haven’t heard anything. No one in the media doesn’t know what is going on in this case. What does this suggest? This is a case that the police have brought under a microscope.

This is in the national media whose very much aware of it and are waiting for information right before they go public. It’s very frustrating because everybody wants to know what’s happening and whether McDonald is going to be charged. There was some evidence that came out this week that there was a previous domestic dispute that McDonald and his wife brandished a gun and he called 911 on her. It definitley says that McDonald and Dwyer may want to think about get counciling.

Thats Amaury’s News and Commentary: Castillo and Cespedes compliment each other in Boston

by Amaury Pi Gonzalez

ANAHEIM–Rusney Castillo, the most recent Cuban import made his debut with the Red Sox a few days ago, now Yoenis Cespedes who had an interpreter in Oakland, has a buddy playing together with him from his homeland, Cuba in Boston. Some teams seem to win only when they hit home runs, because they can’t generate enough offense with good speed. Castillo brings that other dimension to the Red Sox. Castillo is well known for his speed and excitement type of game, and in Boston where fans are “all in” every year, finish first and winning the World Series or finish last, that is something that Luis Tiant appreciates; “es buenisimo” “is very good”.

Cuban players are in vogue today, it has become the fashionable thing for teams to sign Cuban players. Of the new wave of Cuban players of recent years, only one, Yoenis Cespedes has been traded. Aroldis Chapman has become a fixture in the Reds bullpen in Cincinnati with his 103 miles per hour fastball, and he can close games with the best of them, has saved 33 games on a team 3 games away from the cellar.

Yasiel Puig is a sensation in Hollywood with the Dodgers, with more experience he should be a great player, he is already and he has not completed two seasons yet. In the American League playing first base for the Chicago White Sox, Jose Abreu is in the Top Five in the league in home runs and runs batted in; his style reminds me a lot of his compatriot and former Cincinnati Red Hall of Famer Tony Perez, they both can hit long deep home runs, a lot of those up-the-middle to center field. There are two sure things in the American League this season, Mike Trout of the LA Angels is the MVP and Jose Abreu of the Chicago White Sox is the Rookie of the Year. The Red Sox are re-loading (there is no “rebuilding”in Beantown) for 2015 in that very fluid American League East, they will be a force again.

Expect the Red Sox to be back competing in 2015, and with Castillo and Cespedes, and the ageless Big Papi David Ortiz, plus a couple of trades in the off-season, there should be enough excitement for the Red Sox Nation in the near future.

Thats Amaury’s News and Commentary: Best in the West; After waiting an hour Angels take the champagne challenge

by Amaury Pi Gonzalez

ANAHEIM–The Los Angeles Angels won the West last night for the first time since 2009. After C.J Wilson pitched a marvelous game against the Seattle Mariners, winning 5-0, they went inside their dressing room, and watched the last inning of the A’s vs Rangers game at Oakland.

With the Athletics leading 1-0, (and the Angels magic #1)the top of the ninth inning provided enough drama to also keep thousands of Angels fans in the park watching the A’s game from Oakland on the big screens. When J.P. Arencibia hit that homerun in the top of the ninth giving the Rangers the lead, Howie Kendrick almost opened the first bottle of champagne, but was contained by a couple of teammates. After the Rangers scored 6 times and won it 6-1, the party was just getting started, inside the dressing room and outside on the field. Players came out to celebrate with the fans in the stands.

The first division title for the Angels since 2009 and their 95th win of the season. With ten games remaining on their schedule (starting tonight with the last of a 4 game set vs Mariners at Angels Stadium) the Angels would have to go 5-5 to win 100 games. Angels are 50-22 since since July 1, 37-20 in second half and 27-8 in last 35 games and 12-4 this month.

The Angels will close this homestand (their last of the year) this Sunday with the third of three against the Rangers, then they travel to Oakland for three against the A’s and fly up north for three more against the Mariners, then close the regular season September 28 in Seattle.

With 95-57 they have the best record in baseball; at home 51-26 at home, also best in the majors. “This is what we play for”said a smiling and excited Mike Trout, who told me in Spanish “tranquilo” which means “quiet” just minutes before opening the bubbly inside the Angels dressing room. There is little doubt that he will win his first MVP.

Last time the Angels won the World Series was 2002, when they beat the San Francisco Giants. I remember that year very very well, I was doing the play by play for the Giants back then, and still have in my mind the image of Giants catcher Benito Santiago wandering in the lobby of the Anaheim Hilton late that night after the lost.

Down here in the Southland, there still the hope of a Freeway World Series, but the Dodgers only have a two game lead over the Giants, and they will meet for the last time this season next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at sellout Dodger Stadium.

The LA Angels will also go over the 3 million in attendance this weekend.

49ers report: Cardinals Dwyer bailed out of jail; broke wife’s nose head butting her

by David Zizmor

SANTA CLARA–Arizona Cardinals 25 year old running back Jonathan Dwyer was bailed out of Fourth Street Jail in downtown Phoenix this morning at 5:00 AM. Dwyer was bailed out 12 hours after he was arrested for double domestic violence charges, he was arrested at the Cardinals training facility. The Cardinals are preparing the play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.

The 49ers have their own set of problems with Patrick McDonald linebacker whose being investigated for domestic abuse against his girlfriend from a August 31st incident, until the evidence is established the 49ers are allowing McDonald to practice and play with the team.

The double charges stem from two domestic incidents that took place on July 21-22 according to Dwyer’s wife Kayla. Kayla has as of this week left Arizona according to sources. The incident included Dwyer throwing a shoe at his 18 month old son, he missed and didn’t hit his son and Dwyer headbutt Kayla fracturing her nose and the next day slugged her in the face while trying to stop her from calling the police.

After leaving Fourth Street Jail a member of the press asked Dwyer if he threw a shoe at his son Jonathan Jr and Dwyer said “I would never hurt my son.” Neighbors had called police regarding a domestic violence incident on July 21st. When police arrived Kayla told police that everything was under control and that Dwyer had left the residence but Dwyer was hiding in the bathroom.

Phoenix Police Sgt Trent Crump said 27 year old Kayla left the state with their child and that Dwyer the next day after the first argument on July 22 took a cell phone from Kayla’s hand and threw it out their second floor room preventing Kayla from calling police. Dwyer said he would harm himself if Kayla reported the incidents to police.

The Arizona Cardinal have deactivated Dwyer immediately and issued the following statement “we became aware of these allegations this afternoon when notified by Phoenix Police and are cooperating fully, given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities”

Meanwhile in New York at the Commissioner’s office pressure is building on Roger Goodell to step down after what many criticize as his bungling of the Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice punching incident caught on video and that Goodell was not being truthful about not knowing about the punch in the video and that he should leave office.

Goodell’s relations with the players and the union previous to the recent array of domestic cases were already strained. The players said that Goodell was harsh on penalizing the players for roughing, creating deliberate concussions, and swearing or use of foul language, restrictions on touchdown celebrations, and more restrictions on off field behavior. The players also are not happy about the Pro Bowl being moved from Honolulu to Arizona at the end of this season as it’s traditionally held in Honolulu.

49ers report: Pelosi “McDonald shouldn’t play” Newsom says McDonald needs to sit down

by David Zizmor

SANTA CLARA–Minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) met with the media on Wednesday and said that the San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ray McDonald should not have played last Sunday against the Chicago Bears and nor should he play this coming Sunday in Arizona. McDonald continues to practice with the team regardless of calls by California politicians including former San Francisco Mayor and current Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom for McDonald to sit down until the due process plays out.

McDonald is awaiting charges from the San Jose Police regarding an August 31st arrest accusing the linebacker of being resposible for his girlfriend having bruises on her neck. Pelosi said that the NFL in indefinitely suspending Baltimore Raven Ray Rice was the right thing to do. The NFL Players Union has issued a statement saying that they will defend Rice for his reinstatement because he was already disciplined for domestic violence for two games but now given a indefinite suspension claiming double jeopardy.

Rep Jackie Speier said that the NFL needs to take a stand now and suspend all players that have been charged with domestic violence, “we are told to ignore what happens off the sidelines in disciplinary board rooms or behind elevator doors all for the sport, well I refuse to ignore what is happening.” said Speier.
Speier wants to hold an oversight committee for hearings regarding the NFL’s domestic violence issues.

Pelosi said that she was glad that domestic violence was being addressed by the media particularly after the Rice video made it clear that domestic violence will no longer be tolerated in the NFL anymore, “people are getting a better understanding of what is happening, that disrespect it manifests itself in many ways” Pelosi wouldn’t volunteer whether or not that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should step down but said that Congress should reconsider the NFL’s anti exempt laws regarding their radio and television rights bargaining. Major sponsors like Budweiser, Nike, Campbell Soups, McDonald’s and Target among others have spoken up against domestic violence but have not withdrawn their sponsorships.

A’s and Giants commentary: Giants in laughers and skids but maintain tie for wild card; A’s in need of some big offense in Ranger series

by Michael Duca

OAKLAND–In the San Francisco-Los Angeles series there was a laugher on both sides with the Giants taking the first game on Friday night 9-0 and L.A. with their laugher 17-0 on Saturday. The first game was everything that the Giants could have asked for as the team that leads baseball in runs scored, they lead baseball in batting average and with runners in scoring position since the All-Star break.

The Giants also went out and extended their home winning streak to ten games, all was right with the world it was happy everything looked glorious, they were getting ready to come back on Saturday and watch the Giants catch the Dodgers instead the Giants apparently caught Ebola getting blasted 17-0.

In the case of the win-loss laughers for the Giants like I told my wife “some days your the mosquito and some day your the windshield” and the Giants were the windshield on Friday and showed up as a mosquito on Saturday. That was just as bad as you could lose a game the good news is, 1-0, 17-0, it all counts as a loss and you just move onto the next day.

The next day was a pretty good game a 4-2 , no blow out here and Giant pitcher Yusmeiro Petit is the fifth starter in the rotation and has the major league record in consecutive innings pitched without a run by a pitcher. Regarding the 17-0 whipping the Giants got on Saturday it illustrates a lot of things about baseball, the Dodgers lost the night before 9-0 and it didn’t seem to put them in a terrible funk and the Dodgers came out and racked up 17 runs.

The Giants have now lost three straight and have two more left with Arizona and are tied with the Pittsburgh Pirates for first in the N.L. wild card.

Oakland A’s update: Until last Saturday it was looking pretty grim for the Oakland A’s since they won back to back games and it’s been almost 40 games since Brandon Moss hit a home run. Look how rapidly things changed they always do well against Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez they usually lose against him they did well against Hernandez. Saturday the A’s did well and they won 3-2 and you could imagine what kind of effect that had in the A’s clubhouse.

They came out and pitched well on Sunday and wound up taking that series as they got the rubber game shutting out the M’s 4-0. The back to back wins solidified themselves in the wild card as the A’s are with the Kansas City Royals. If the A’s lose that series there’s a good chance the A’s don’t make the playoffs.

It was looking that ugly and until Sunday the A’s won back to back games and they hadn’t done that in more than three weeks. You can’t limp along to the finish line win one, lose one, win one, lose two, that’s not going to get you there. The M’s have been closing ground rapidly on the A’s. Their in a situation where either Detroit or Kansas City is going to be one of the wild cards and if the A’s are going to be one of the other wild cards they have to hold off the Mariners.

It’s been Josh Donaldson and the seven dwarfs for the last few weeks and the role of Snow White doesn’t fit him that well. The A’s are in need of some help in that line up so getting contribution from Moss and Adam Dunn certainly don’t hurt but the truth is as Coco (Crisp) goes so goes the A’s.

Raiders and 49ers commentary: Carr will have to work with the offense before Sun game; Kapernick’s gunslinger arm needed to avoid interceptions

by David Zizmor

ALAMEDA–For the Oakland Raiders coming off that 30-14 loss last Sunday the Raiders offense is going to be their biggest problem for them this season. The offense is a work in progress. The offensive line is not very good. Maurice Jones Drew who is their best player is hurt. James Jones is fine as a wide receiver but is not very deep at that position.

Maybe the Raiders will find lighting in a bottle, their 0-2 and headed to New England next Sunday.Running backs Latavius Murray or Darren McFadden might flourish when given the chance. Derrick Carr is a rookie quarterback and most rookie quarterbacks are not like Andrew Luck. There not like Robert Griffin in his rookie year most rookie quarterbacks struggle.

In Peyton Manning’s rookie year he threw 17 interceptions, Carr isn’t in that caliber or at least what we can see. Behind a shaky offensive line with questionable offensive weapons Carr is not in a position to excel. He might eventually be a very good quarterback, there’s some talent there that you could see.

These guys have to be given an opportunity as well, you saw with his brother in Houston David Carr who was the number one pick overall. Derrick had the skills to be a decent quarterback and he’s getting sacked 60 times a season. It’s not an exaggeration he’s getting sacked 60 times a season. With the Raiders facing an aggressive Patriots defense for next Sunday Carr will be running in the pocket all day long.

San Francisco 49ers update: Quarterback Colin Kapernick gets a little bit of a cushion as he’s been successful with the 49ers as a quarterback. He tried to force some passes that he shouldn’t have and as a result he threw some really bad interceptions and you can’t do that. You know what former Green Bay quarterback Brett Farve did that and I’m not saying Kapernick is like Farve.

Kapernick does have that gunslinger mentality that former 49er quarterbacks Joe Montana or Steve Young had. Montana was very precise and almost surgical in the way he would throw behind a defense. Kapernick has got a little of that cowboy in him and not a Dallas Cowboy, Kapernick has a grip and rip it attitude that’s what Farve had.

Guys who have that are going to make throws or make throws like Kapernick did, remember when Farve left Green Bay the last game he played was in that game against the New York Giants. The last throw he made as a Packer was an interception into the hands of multiple Giants. It went into about triple coverage that the Giants picked off.
