#1 Michael, talk about the big announcement last Thursday regarding the Colorado Buffaloes leaving the Pac 12 this being the third team now to leave with USC and UCLA how will that impact the league.

#2 Now with three teams departing the Pac 12 do you see the Pac 12 getting the opportunity to add some teams or could they end up disbanding?

#3 The Pac 12 ironically has won more championships than any other league but now the league has lots questions about it’s future.

#4 The Pac 12 has problems with their TV contract regarding it’s media rights contract did that play into the three teams departures knowing that they can’t stay profitable.

#5 Talk about the team you cover the Cal Bears how this all plays out loosing such opponents such as USC, UCLA, and Colorado.

San Francisco Giants podcast with Stephen Ruderman: Giants looking at some defense in picking up AJ Pollock in stretch drive

#1 The Giants picked up right handed hitters AJ Pollock and Mark Mathis from the Seattle Mariners. Mathis was optioned to triple A Sacramento. The Giants who were looking for right handed hitting. Outfielder Mike Yastrzemski and pitcher John Brebbia are both out with injuries on the 10 day IL.

#2 Pollock who is 35 and arrives with the Giants is hitting .175 in 138 at bats, the Giants are looking for Pollock’s defensive help with Mitch Haniger and Yastrzemski out of the line up. Pollock is expected to cover their position as the Giants try to push for a post season drive.

#3 Stephen, talk about the rotation of outfielders once Yastrzemski returns of Michael Conforto, Luis Matos, Austin Slater with not only their defense but hittting.

#4 The Giants might be shopping Mariners outfielder Teoscar Hernandez there are three teams seeking his services, the Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays and Giants. Hernandez is hitting .238, 98 hits, 16 home runs and 59 RBIs. Besides his defense the Giants would like to pursue his bat.

#5 Giants continue this four game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at Oracle Park. The Giants lost a close contest to open the series on Monday night 4-3. The D-Backs are just a game behind the Giants in third place and 3.5 games back of first. The Giants in second are 2.5 games back in the NL West as things are expected to tighten up in the standings between these two clubs.

#1 Amaury, talk about how the Texas Rangers were able to sign pitcher Max Scherzer, Jordan Montgomery and Chris Stratton in their attempt to keep up with the Houston Astros.

#2 The Rangers have maintained first place since Apr 9 and have been competitive with the Houston Astros in the AL West. The Rangers season has been so successful that at the All Star game the Rangers had five players starting. How much of the Rangers success is Bruce Bochy’s.

#3 The Los Angeles Angels improved their chances in their post season bid by obtaining from the Colorado Rockies right fielder Randal Grichuk and pitcher CJ Cron. The Rockies received first baseman Jake Madden and Mason Albright. The Angels moves were to help Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani and the Angels get to post season.

#4 Once former Mets pitcher David Robertson was traded to the Miami Marlins his old teammate Max Scherzer called for a meeting with Mets management and apparently it didn’t end with an agreement over sending Robertson to the Marlins and Scherzer ended up waving his no trade clause and being dealt to the Texas Rangers it will be Scherzer’s second time in the American League his first was with the Detroit Tigers.

#5 Amaury, the Oakland A’s open up a three game series in Los Angeles on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. The A’s have lost four of their last ten games. The A’s are coming off a two out of three series victory against the Colorado Rockies while the A’s can stir it up sometimes the Dodgers might be a tall order.
