SAN JOSE — Andrew Agozzino scored the game winning goal with 46 seconds left in overtime to give the San Jose Barracuda a 4-3 comeback victory over the Tuscon Roadrunners on Sunday afternoon at Tech CU Arena.

San Jose has won two games in a row and swept the two-game series with their division opponent. Tucson has lost three games in a row.

Danil Gushchin led a two on one odd man rush with Agozzino up the ice. Gushchin sent a cross rink pass over to the ‘Cuda captain who blasted a one-timer past Roadrunners goalie Ivan Prosvetov for his second goal of the game and seventh goal of the season.

Tucson (10-7-2-0) drew first blood in the first period. Jean-Sebastian Dea cleaned up his own rebound after receiving a pass from Laurent Dauphin for his 11th goal of the season at the 7:34 mark.

The Roadrunners doubled their lead with a power play goal more than halfway through the second period. Michael Carcone sniped home a wrist shot from the right slot through a screened ‘Cuda goalie Eetu Makiniemi for his seventh goal of the season at the 12:24 mark.

San Jose (12-9-0-1) cut the Tucson lead in half 50 seconds later. Tristen Robins initially had his breakaway attempt stoned by Prosvetov but Thomas Bordeleau gathered the loose puck and deposited into the back of the net for his team leading 11th goal of the season at the 13:14 mark. Bordeleau has scored a goal in three straight games.

The Barracuda scored the equalizer with a power play goal late in the middle frame. Gushchin lasered in a wrist shot from the right point past Prsvetov for his sixth goal of the season at the 17:12 mark.

San Jose scored their third unanswered goal early in the third period with its second power play goal of the game. A shot from the left wing by Gushchin bounced out to Agozzino who buried the puck into an empty net for his first goal of the game and sixth of the season at the 3:31 mark.

Tucson scored the equalizer with their second power play goal of the game late in the third period. Carcone sent a rink wide pass over to Adam Cracknell who one-timed the puck past Makiniemi for his sixth goal of the season at the 15:05 mark.

Makiniemi finished with 40 saves on 43 shots to earn the victory. Prosvetov made 28 saves on 32 shots in the losing effort.
