On the Sharks podcast with Mary Lisa:
#1 The game between the San Jose Sharks (13-16-4) and the Minnesota Wild (21-10-1) ended up in a 3-3 tie after regulation and went into an overtime and a shootout aren’t there nights in this game you’d wish that after two stanzas of overtime the game could just finish in a tie?
#2 The Sharks showed a lot of improvement. In their last few games they got into third period trouble by allowing three goals after tying games. This time they hung on after the overtime and shootout periods to get a win 4-3 win thanks to a game winning goal by Erik Karlsson.
#3 The Sharks goaltender Martin Jones had another defensive night facing 28 shots and allowing three goals. Jones has showed a lot of improvement over the last two weeks.
#4 Sharks head coach Bob Boughner has to be proud of his defense not just for their defense but for the ability to score goals too, Erik Karlsson scored twice and Radim Simek scored once.
#5 The Minnesota Wild are no pushovers after losing a frustrating game like the one on Monday night you know they’ll be out to battle the Sharks in game two of this series on Wednesday night at SAP Center.
