On the Cardinal podcast with Jerry F:
#1 Jerry how big was it that Stanford’s quarterback David Mills and wide receiver Connor Weddington both missed opening week in Oregon against the Ducks?
#2 The Cardinals’ defensive end Trey LaBounty also was missing from action last Saturday as he also was positive for Covid-19. The Cardinal lost quite handedly 35-14 and missing LaBounty and the defense was a big part of that loss.
#3 As of Tuesday Stanford head coach David Shaw indicated that a fourth unnamed player has also contracted Covid. As of Wednesday the Cardinal who host the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday have not indicated if the game would be postponed as of yet.
#4 Shaw also said he has no idea of the timeline when the players would be back but at midweek knows that some decisions have to be made soon and the Cardinal are trying to avoid postponing the game on Saturday.
#5 Last week the Cardinal had Jack West starting who threw 154 yards and third stringer Tanner Mckee who threw for 62 yards neither threw for a touchdown in the loss. The Buffaloes got by the UCLA Bruins in a shootout 48-42 in their last game last Saturday the Buffaloes can provide a lot of offense. Jerry set this game up for us.
