Having two prolific scorers on one team is huge in the WNBA and the Aces have that in forwards A’ja Wilson and Angel McCoughtry.
The duo combined for 50 points and 19 rebounds as Las Vegas rolled to their third straight win beating the Sparks, 86-82 at the IMG Bubble in Bradenton, FL.
Wilson scored a season high 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season.
“Angel is so easy to play with and it is great to play alongside of her,” said Wilson. “She is a multi-Olympian gold medalist.”
McCoughtry added 24 points going 8 for 15 from the field.
“To have an A’ja Wilson, hopefully it’s like a better Shaq and Kobe dynamic,” said McCoughtry.
The win moved Las Vegas into a 3rd place tie with Phoenix and Chicago in the standings at 4-2.
“Quality win for us,” said head coach Bill Laimbeer. “It puts us up at 4-2 and keeps us with the leaders.”
The Aces will next play on Sunday against the 1-5 New York Liberty.
