On the NHL podcast with Matt:

#1 The New York Rangers were shutout by the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0 on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. Is this indicative of the Rangers’ play or the Hurricanes were just plain fired up and ready to go in the third period?

#2 The Canes scored all their goals in the third period; Warren Foegele (7), Andrei Svechnikov (14), and Brock McGinn (6)

#3 The Canes goaltender Peter Mrazek stopped all 26 Rangers shots. Was this a matter of Mrazek getting protection up front or did he have to stand on his head for the shutout?

#4 The Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist held the Canes to a shutout in two periods, but allowed three goals in the third period.

#5 Turning to other NHL action, the San Jose Sharks play in Vancouver on Monday night, a 7:00 pm puck drop at Rogers Centre. Matt tells us what he thinks of this matchup.
