Jose Altuve quickly set the tone in game one of the ALDS for the Houston Astros with three home runs and an 8-2 win over the Boston Red Sox as Houston takes a 1-0 lead in the ALDS series. Altuve is the first player to hit three homers in a post season game the last player to do it was the San Francisco Giants Pablo Sandoval in the 2012 World Series
In other ALDS action Cleveland stole the show behind the first game of the series against the New York Yankees. Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer in game one 4-0. Bauer went 6 2/3 of shutout ball gave up two hits, a walk, and struck out eight hitters.
