On the Oakland A’s Podcast with Jerry:
Santiago Casilla could be finished with Oakland after blowing his sixth save in Toronto Wednesday. The A’s lost a 3-2 decision after leading 2-0 when the Jays hit two homers in a walk off win in the ninth
Meanwhile starter Paul Blackburn is proving to be a worthy pitcher for the A’s going seven innings last Wednesday he pitched shutout ball for seven innings and pitched well enough to even complete that game although the pitch count and A’s manager Bob Melvin wouldn’t allow it
Casilla’s two home run pitches he gave up were to the Jays Justin Smoak and Kendrys Morales
After Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson were dealt to Washington the A’s don’t have a really established reliever right now their going to take a look at Josh Smith, Frnakie Montas, Simon Castro, Ryan Dull and they just released John Axford.
No joshing- Josh Phegley complained of oblique tightness and says he can’t swing a bat and all indications look like Phegley is headed for the DL and the A’s have called up catcher Ryan Lavarnway from triple A affiliate Nashville to back up starter Bruce Maxwell
