On the MLB The Show with Matt Harrington:
1. The A’s certainly had a series with the Red Sox nearly taking four straight, they had plenty of offense in the series something that had A’s manager Bob Melvin was concerned about after having about the listless hitting from the last road trip in Texas and Seattle but Khris Davis, Chad Pinder, and Mark Canha made use of the lumber to lead the A’s to three straight wins over the Boston Red Sox to start the current homestand.
2. Pinder hit a tape measure homer that helped the Athletics on Saturday and the A’s got their third victory over a Red Sox team that everyone was concerned about after that road trip where they won only one game in six.
3. In the series against the Sox it seems like the offense is jelling together and even though they got laughed out of the yard on Sunday 12-3 the A’s are set for the Marlins series on Tuesday night after taking Monday off. It’s a brief two game series but the A’s want to make the best of it as they try to gain ground in the AL West race’
4. The A’s on Saturday were happy with their handy work as they won that ball game on 8-3 and scored two runs in each of the first, fifth, and sixth innings off the visiting Sox
