Cal Bears basketball podcast with Michael Duca: Golden Bears back home will try to top Washington tonight

In the game against the USC Trojans the Cal Bears Ivan Rabb got the game winner in the form of two free throws  and blocked what would have been the game winning shot that would have won it for USC on January 8th. The play designed by Cal head coach Cuonzo Martin was to allow Rabb to get with USC shooter Jordan McLaughlin who got the inbounds pass and was able to get a hand on the ball and block the shot that helped result in the Bears win 74-73.

It was curious to see if Cal could put it all together on the road and this trip to LA was their first true road game of the season. The Bears were playing in hostile environments that belonged to the opponents they were not neutral environments. They did do a decent job at UCLA in a ten point 81-71 loss last week Thursday. They were down by 24 and turned that into a game.

Cal opens two home games this week with the Washington Huskies later tonight at 6:00PM and then on Saturday host the Washington State Cougars for a 1:00PM tip all at Haas Pavilion.
