Game 7 of  The historic 2016 World Series registered over 40 million people for an audience, the best for a baseball game since 1991. Obviously the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians had a lot to do with this viewership, since those were the two franchises will the longest drought in World Series competition. Last night’s viewership of game seven was up 70% over the Kansas City-San Francisco game on October 29, 2014. President Obama(although and admitted Chicago White Sox fan), invited the other Chicago team to visit him before his tenure as President comes to an end. Usually baseball teams that win the World Series visit the President the year following their win.
The pregame and post-game shows on FOX for this postseason(including the World Series) were also a huge hit, with Pete Rose, Alex Rodriguez and Frank Thomas as commentators, they injected humor and good analysis in-between the excessive World Series statistics that would make most people dizzy.
In a away this was like the Superbowl for baseball since the Chicago Cubs are like a national team, and Cleveland… well (no disrespect)is…Cleveland. I use ther example of a Superbowl, because as we all know it here in this country the Super Bowl is the one sporting event that gets the largest television audience.
