Las Vegas made the Chicago Cubs a 4 to 1 favorite right after Spring Training and days before the start of the 2016 season. And could be the favorites again in 2017. The Cubs went on to win 103 games during the regular season(best record in baseball)then marched through the postseason beating the Giants and the Dodger and then in the 112th World Series over the Cleveland Indians in seven games. Some years the winner of the World Series, although the winner, there is always commentary if they were the best team. This 2016 season there is no argument the Chicago Cubs are the best and are the true champions of baseball.
There is nobody around that I know (and probably you) that was around in 1908, the last time the Chicago Cubs won a World Series and today they have finally they put the Goat to rest. This is without a doubt a very young and talented team directed by a great manager-phsycologist in Joe Maddon, who will forever be a legend from now on in the Windy City. In his second year as manager of the Cubs he achieved one of the greatest goals in sports, to win a World Series with the Chicago Cubs.
A great game seven that was won by the Cubs 8-7 over the Cleveland Indians in ten innings, with even a 17 minute rain delay at Progressive Field in Cleveland. Manager Joe Maddon was the second manager in the last 108 years to win a World Series for the Cubs, last one was Frank Chance(Player and Manager) on the 1908 Cubs ball-club.
Ben Zobrist who in 2015 won a ring with the World Champion Kansas City Royals, was the MVP of this great Cubs team and received a black convertible 2017 Chevrolet Camaro.
Cubs were down 3 games to 1. Anthony Rizzo who caught the last out at first base from a ground-ball of Michael Martinez bat  to the third basemanKris Bryant said after the game:  “best game I’ve ever been a part of” Rizzo is one of the Cubs that played in the 2012 team that lost 101 games. Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona, who won two World Series as manager of the Boston Red Sox, could not close the deal as they returned to their home yard needing to win just one of the two last games, but could not against a Cubs team that adjusted their offense against an excellent Indians team with great pitching especially led by a great bullpen.
The Indians won the Central Division of the American League and in a sense they were a big surprise, they could be back as contenders next season, but the Chicago Cubs with this championship club they should definetely be back as contenders in 2017 and I would not be surprised if this Cubs team,(as it is) would also return to the Fall Classic next year. If there is a team today in baseball that is posied to have a dynasty, it is the Chicago Cubs, very young and very talented with great ownership and with great fans.
