USA Today photo: Colorado Buffaloes defensive back Isaiah Oliver (26) intercepts the ball in front of Stanford Cardinal wide receiver Michael Rector (3) during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game at Stanford Stadium
The Stanford Cardinal defense was very good, extremely good and held the Colorado Buffaloes to a touchdown and a field goal. They held a very high scoring team to just ten points. Colorado has been averaging 39 points a game coming into Stanford last Saturday. The Buffaloes could have put more points on the board they were in the red zone three times and they couldn’t score and they set up three field goals and missed all three. The Buffaloes offense was misfiring but it also could have been Stanford’s defense playing pretty well.
Anytime you hold a team to ten points you should expect to win but Stanford’s offense on the other hand was to put it mildly pathetic. For Stanford quarterback Ryan Burns he had a very difficult day he threw three interceptions and he fumbled the ball. You can’t have four turnovers to win. Burns did not play well. The Cardinal will try it again as they are at Arizona to face the Sun Devils on Saturday Oct 29th.
