On the MLB podcast with Daniel Dullum :
The Giants clubhouse after their contest with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday brought more than just champagne but a Wild Card playoff game and another breath of life for San Francisco Giants who struggled after the All Star break in the second half of the season. After struggling in September with teams like the San Diego Padres and even the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium the Giants this last week on this final homestand put their stamp on the post season clinching the second NL wild card spot. The last time the Giants were a wild card team they beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in a one game playoff and won the whole thing in 2014.
Sunday was Los Angeles Dodgers broadcast legend Vin Scully’s last game. Scully who announced his retirement during last season was counting down the days. After 67 years (since 1950) Scully had called everything from his time in Brooklyn until the time the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958 .
