On the Oakland A’s podcast with Jerry, the A’s Ryan Madson took the loss against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday in a one run defeat after starter Raul Alcantara pitched a much improved game at the Oakland Coliseum. Alcantara pitched 5.2 innings the only home run he gave up was to the Mariners catcher Mike Zunino. Alcantara had several strike outs, one walk, to one hit batter.
It was quite a contrast from his first performance. Alcantara came in with an ERA of 15.00 and it dropped down to about 7.00. He was pitching very well. A’s manager Bob Melvin was very pleased with his performance. You have to remember the game he started where he hit three players was his first game ever in the major leagues.
