AP photo: Los Angeles Dodgers starter Rich Hill runs his hands through his hair after being pulled in the seventh inning with a perfect game going
On the MLB podcast enough is enough for Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts as it was time to lift pitcher Rich Hill who was throwing a perfect game for the Dodgers Saturday until he reached his pitch limit and Roberts pulled him out of concern that Hill would develop a blister on his pitching finger. It’s not the first time a manager has removed a pitcher during a no hitter and there are those who would give Roberts a hard time about this.
Here’s the deal if the Dodgers were not in the pennant race you would have seen Hill out there as long as he possibly could go. Because the Dodgers are in the race because they need Hill the Dodgers picked him up from the Oakland A’s in a trade for a reason. Hill was starting to develop a blister on his pitching hand and for a pitcher that’s never good.
