Kelby Tomlinson gave the San Francisco Giants a shot in the arm when they need it most, in extra innings.

Tomlinson singled to center field in the top of the 12th inning to score Brandon Belt, helping the Giants comeback from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6 at Chase Field.

The over five-hour, 12 inning game saw four different lead changes and three ties between the NL West rivals.

With the victory, the Giants moved within four games of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who lost to the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park, despite the fact that Clayton Kershaw made his first start since June.

Madison Bumgarner went six innings, allowing four runs on six hits, walking just one and struck out nine in getting a no-decision.

Joe Nathan picked up his second win of the season, as he pitched the 11th inning, as he allowed one hit and struck out one.

Cory Gearrin saved his third save, as he pitched the 12th inning, allowing a walk and struck out two.

Gearrin also played left field, becoming the first Giants pitcher to play in the field since Noah Lowry on June 8, 2007 and was the first pitcher to play in the field and pitch in the same inning since Keith Comstock on June 13, 1987.

Jake Lamb tied up the game in the bottom of the 10th inning, as he hit a solo home run off of Santiago Casilla. It was the fourth home run by Lamb off of Casilla in eight career at-bats.

Hunter Pence scored his fourth run of the game in the top of the 10th inning on a wild pitch by Enrique Burgos to give the Giants the lead, but Casilla was unable to hold the lead.

In all, Pence went 4-for-5 at the plate with those four runs scored, and made an amazing catch deep in the right field corner.

After trailing 4-1 at the end of three innings, the Giants began to chip away, as they scored two in the fourth and tied up the game in the top of the sixth inning when Brandon Belt singled yo score Pence.

Angel Pagan gave the Giants the lead in the top of the seventh inning, as he homered to left field; however that lead would last only a half inning.

Micah Owings hit a fly ball to center field that Denard Span was unable to catch for an error when it bounced off his glove, luckily Span was able to recover to pickup the ball, throw a perfect relay to Brandon Crawford, who tagged out Owings at home, as he tried to score. Socrates Brito tied up the game on the Owings hit.
