On the Giants podcast with Michael, the Giants dropped a tough one to the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-3 at AT&T Park Tuesday night to fall to second place in the National League West. Will Giants general manger Bobby Evans and Giants manager Bruce Bochy start to panic at this point? Boch has been very quiet on the issue and has been here before not showing any emotion or worry.
In the eighth inning Giants reliever Derek Law surrendered a home run ball to the Pittsburgh Pirates Jung Ho Kang that proved to be the game winner for the Pirates in the one run loss on Tuesday. The Giants are continuing their search for closer help as reliever Santiago Casilla continues to struggle. The Giants signed former Giant pitcher Joe Nathan to a minor league deal and who spent a majority of his career with the Twins and just cleared wavers with the Chicago Cubs. Nathan is working out in Giants affiliate double A Richmond Virginia. Though the Giants wouldn’t say Nathan is not a replacement for Casilla if Casilla can’t get on track soon the organization may consider Nathan for a shot at closing.
