AP photo: Washington Nationals Daniel Murphy clouts a fifth inning triple off the San Francisco Giants on Friday at AT&T Park
On the MLB Podcast with Matt, San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy has little doubt that the Giants after losing 11 of their last 13 games will break out sooner than later. The Giants who got caught up in a 4-1 loss on Friday night to the Washington Nationals and saw a historic triple play turned against them are confident this is the weekend they break out of it.
The Giants this weekend are hoping to turn that triple play into a triple threat after Joe Panik, Matt Duffy and Hunter Pence get back into the line up and hope to do some damage. The Giants line up might get inspiration with their return Panik, Pence, and Duffy and get some run production going.
Oakland A’s starter Kendall Graveman on Friday night at Progressive Field in Cleveland was sailing along until the sixth inning when he gave up a solo shot to Carlos Santana and to cut Oakland’s lead to 3-1. In the seventh Cleveland rallied for four runs to take the lead for good for the 5-3 win. Oakland-Cleveland finish the series this weekend.
