On the MLB podcast with Matt, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tim Lincecum is making his Bay Area return when the Angels and A’s battle it out on Saturday night at the Oakland Coliseum. For Lincecum the return is special but he will be out to prove to himself and the Angels that he’s still got it after coming back from hip surgery. In Triple A Salt Lake Lincecum pitched over 17 innings and went 2.65 ERA and pitched seven innings and gave up a run and eight strike outs.
Also the Giants Jeff Samardzija is back in rhythm he pitched a four hitter to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays and also completed the game. Samardzija had struggled in his last three outings and needed a good game to get back on track. Also at the Oakland Coliseum on Friday night the A’s Billy Burns got the game winning walk off single for the win. Burns got the single with two outs and after the series with they had with the Rangers they’ll take a win when they can.
