Once again, the San Francisco Giants were unable to hold a lead against the St. Louis Cardinals in the finale of their 10-game, three city road trip.

Aledmys Diaz, Matt Adams and Yadier Molina each drove in a run in a four-run sixth inning, as the Cardinals came back for the second straight day to defeat the Giants 6-3 at Busch Stadium.

Molina drove in the eventual game-winning run on a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded in that fateful sixth inning.

Jarrett Parker hit a two-run home run for the Giants, who have lost two games in a row for the first time since May 8-10 when they lost three in a row.

Carlos Martinez picked up his sixth win of the season for the Cardinals, as he gave up three runs in six innings of work. Matt Carpenter picked up three hits and drove in a run.

Jake Peavy was unable to pickup his 150th win of his career, as he went five innings, allowing four runs on five hits, while walking two and striking out five, as he fell to 2-6 on the season.

Hunter Pence will undergo hamstring surgery on Thursday in Dallas, and will miss at least eight weeks.
