TEMPE AZ–The Los Angeles Angels beat the San Francisco Giants 9-5 in a perfect sunny day at Tempe Diablo Stadium, Spring Training Home of the Angels in front of 9,663 fans, their first sellout. The sun drenched sellout crowd saw veteran slugger Albert Pujols hit his first home run of the spring from Giants veteran Jake Peavy(a line shot with a 1-2 count to left field). Peavy in three games he has started in the Cactus League now has a 10.83 earned run average. For the Angels lefty Hector Santiago started and pitched 2 2/3 innings gave 4 hits an 1 earned run while striking out four Giants.After his work, he said he feels fine and his pitches were working to his satisfaction.
The Giants host the San Diego Padres at Scottsdale Stadium this Sunday, as Madison Bumgarden will take the mound. while the LA Angels will stay in Tempe and host the western division rivals Texas Rangers.
Other news: Athletics All Star catcher Stephen Vogt connected for two home runs, but the Texas Rangers defeated the A’s 14 to 5…Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager was injured going around first base and after an MRI he will miss 1 to 2 weeks with a sprained left knee ligament.
