The Arizona Wild Cats (15-3) will be making a trip to Stanford (10-6) on Thursday. The Cardinal are coming off a six point win last Thursday to the Cal Bears (12-6) at Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal have some great offensive weapons coming into Thursday night’s contest with top scorers Rosco Allen, Marcus Allen, and Michael Humphrey. Rosco had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cardinal.
The Cardinal last Thursday played a real tight game on defense in the paint and protected the boards which might explains why they were able to hold the Bears to just six point for the 77-71 win in the two college’s basketball version of the Big Game.
Stanford had a game plan coming off a 67 percent average on the free throw line they saw the Bears commit fouls that resulted in their opportunities to get to the line and improve their average. It was the free throws, getting fouled, great shooting from Rosco that helped in the win Thursday. They get ready for Arizona this time at Stanford and the Cardinal could win but it will be a handful with Arizona’s brash offense and defense.
