On the podcast with Amaury, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaff said she’ll fight to keep the Raiders and A’s in Oakland but this is a tale of two teams and two different scenarios. The Raiders are talking about leaving as early as the end of the season and packing up for L.A. Meanwhile Schaff is trying make the suggestion of using property taxes to subsidize a new stadium for the Raiders.
From the sound of things when Schaff met with NFL officials in New York they sounded like their moving forward with the LA move. The Raiders already have the CEO of Disney signed up to help them with the political landscape in the Southland and the NFL seems to be on board with the idea.
Meanwhile the A’s have sometime to play with signing a ten year lease last season to stay at the Coliseum. The A’s can wait and see what the Raiders decide to do. If the Raiders move out of the Coliseum to LA and the Warriors are already getting set to move to the City the A’s could have the entire Coliseum Complex to themselves to remodel.
