SAN JOSE–The players are not used to not making the playoffs for the San Jose Sharks this being the first season since the 2002-03 campaign the Sharks have not made the post season. You really can’t predict what’s going to happen with this team in the off season. The last road trip the Sharks dropped a number of games and dropped points.

The Sharks really needed to win out most of those games and now with six games left and two more home games after Wednesday night their just trying to finish off the season. Some of the players are playing for new contracts to keep their place on the roster and to keep their value on the trading block.

As the season is winding down the Sharks are still playing hard but you don’t see much excitement on the ice anymore. The Sharks had that long losing streak at home that was back in January-February where they just couldn’t win at home. They lost so many games at home and now it’s catching up with them that’s where their at because of those home loses.

The Sharks played against some good teams this season and really struggled against lower teams they had loses to teams like Edmonton and Buffalo who are real outsiders. Those are teams who were going nowhere and the Sharks struggled against them. The Sharks came off the four games in which they lost in a row in the playoffs last season to this season the Sharks will have to be taking stock in the off season after a rather faulty 2014-15 campaign.

You can expect a change with either the General Manager Doug Wilson or head coach Todd McClellan, it’s not certain what the Sharks plans are with Wilson he does have good favor with the ownership. This is his team and these are the moves that he’s made to put this team together and the fall out with Joe Thornton this season where they exchanged some heated words was part of it.

It’s hard to say where Wilson stands now and it could be time for a change and to get somebody new the easiest change to make would be firing McClellan. McClellan has done his best but it was under his helm that he blew a three game lead against the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the playoffs last season and lost four straight to be eliminated from post season and failed to make the playoffs this season.
