SANTA CLARA–Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for the San Francisco 49ers amongst locker room tension, rumors of head coach Jim Harbaugh going back to coach college as soon as this season is over and namely at Michigan, and talk that Harbaugh has lost the team.

The 49ers linebacker Ray McDonald has had his shares of hits this week as his house was burglarized and former San Francisco 49er great Jerry Rice made a statement that McDonald needs sit out the games until evidence can be established of McDonald’s guilt or innocence regarding the August 31st domestic violence charges against him.

McDonald’s only statement on the charges that he gave bruises to his wife’s throat area was that everyone knows he’s a great guy and that he should be judged for his character. Jerry Rice said that the 49ers should wait no longer and take McDonald off the field, “I think I’m just like Steve Young I would have totally taken him off the field until it’s resolved. But they have decided to let him play and it’s just unfortunate. I feel that when you have something that’s weighing you down like that, because it’s a very important topic and it’s very sensitive, I just feel he should have been taken off the field.”

Burglarized home of Ray McDonald: As McDonald was in Arizona getting ready for the game against the Cardinals last Sunday McDonald’s home in San Jose was burglarized and reportedly had a number of items stolen on Saturday night. Neither McDonald or San Jose Police would disclose to the media what items were taken. Police said that no suspects have been arrested in the burglary.

This is the same home where the alleged domestic abuse took place where McDonald was to have attacked his girlfriend on the night of August 31st.
