SANTA CLARA–Arizona Cardinals 25 year old running back Jonathan Dwyer was bailed out of Fourth Street Jail in downtown Phoenix this morning at 5:00 AM. Dwyer was bailed out 12 hours after he was arrested for double domestic violence charges, he was arrested at the Cardinals training facility. The Cardinals are preparing the play the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.

The 49ers have their own set of problems with Patrick McDonald linebacker whose being investigated for domestic abuse against his girlfriend from a August 31st incident, until the evidence is established the 49ers are allowing McDonald to practice and play with the team.

The double charges stem from two domestic incidents that took place on July 21-22 according to Dwyer’s wife Kayla. Kayla has as of this week left Arizona according to sources. The incident included Dwyer throwing a shoe at his 18 month old son, he missed and didn’t hit his son and Dwyer headbutt Kayla fracturing her nose and the next day slugged her in the face while trying to stop her from calling the police.

After leaving Fourth Street Jail a member of the press asked Dwyer if he threw a shoe at his son Jonathan Jr and Dwyer said “I would never hurt my son.” Neighbors had called police regarding a domestic violence incident on July 21st. When police arrived Kayla told police that everything was under control and that Dwyer had left the residence but Dwyer was hiding in the bathroom.

Phoenix Police Sgt Trent Crump said 27 year old Kayla left the state with their child and that Dwyer the next day after the first argument on July 22 took a cell phone from Kayla’s hand and threw it out their second floor room preventing Kayla from calling police. Dwyer said he would harm himself if Kayla reported the incidents to police.

The Arizona Cardinal have deactivated Dwyer immediately and issued the following statement “we became aware of these allegations this afternoon when notified by Phoenix Police and are cooperating fully, given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities”

Meanwhile in New York at the Commissioner’s office pressure is building on Roger Goodell to step down after what many criticize as his bungling of the Baltimore Ravens Ray Rice punching incident caught on video and that Goodell was not being truthful about not knowing about the punch in the video and that he should leave office.

Goodell’s relations with the players and the union previous to the recent array of domestic cases were already strained. The players said that Goodell was harsh on penalizing the players for roughing, creating deliberate concussions, and swearing or use of foul language, restrictions on touchdown celebrations, and more restrictions on off field behavior. The players also are not happy about the Pro Bowl being moved from Honolulu to Arizona at the end of this season as it’s traditionally held in Honolulu.
