ANAHEIM-The San Jose Sharks defeated the Anaheim Ducks 6-5 in both teams preseason finale on Saturday night. The offensive explosion was exactly what the Sharks needed going into the regular season opener on Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks. The season opener will also be the home opener for San Jose as the game will be held at the SAP Center in San Jose.

The offense started early for both teams as there were 11 goals scored in total throughout the contest. The Sharks trailed 2-1 before running off four unanswered goals to take the 6-4 advantage. Dan Boyle scored two goals, both of which came on the power-play.

Boyle’s goal at the 7:36 mark in the third and final period ended up being the difference in the game as the Sharks were able to hang on for the 6-5 win in Anaheim.

Tommy Wingels was one of the other stars of the game as he earned three assists throughout the night.

The San Jose Sharks finished their preseason with a record of 4-1-1.
